Mixmeister Toolbar

MixMeister Toolbar is a browser add-on which you can acquire after downloading MixMeister software. If the software is downloaded from the official websites, no additional toolbar will be installed, but if you decide to acquire MixMeister via some affiliated websites, do not get surprised when you are offered to install some toolbar.

Instead of Google or any other search engine which you use regularly, you will be forced to use Blekko search engine, and instead of Google.com or any page, your home page will be changed to blekko.com.

The so-called MixMeister Toolbar, can be and should be removed from the system in case you do not like to be provided with sponsored search results. Moreover, if you do not like the toolbar, which has four buttons directing you to Facebook and Twitter, allowing you to access Bing map and check the weather forecasts, you should remove it along with the application SimilarWeb whose button is installed to the toolbar. The SimilarWeb button enables you to find the websites which are similar to the one you are browsing.  According to the review of this add-on on Mozilla.org, this application makes your browser faster and easier to surf the web.  If you do not like this app and do not want it to be on your browsing tools, remove it along with Mixmeister Toolbar.

MixMeister Toolbar Removal Guide

Windows Vista/7

1. Open the Start menu.
2. Select Control Panel.
3. Click on Uninstall a program under Programs.
4. Double-click on Blekko Search Bar, SimilarWeb or any other application associated with MixMeister.

Windows XP

1. Open the Start menu.
2. Select Control Panel.
3. Click on Add or Remove Programs.
4. Select the unwanted application and click on the Remove button.

Remove MixMeister Toolbar from the browsers

Internet Explorer

1. Open the browser.
2. Press and hold down the Alt key and press T.
3. Click on Manage Add-ons and select Toolbars and Extensions. Check whether the unwanted add-on is present. If so, remove it.
4. In the Search Providers section, set a new search engine and remove the unwanted one.
5. To change the home page, press Alt+T.
6. Click on Internet Options and change the home page under the General tab.
7. Press Apply to save the change.

Mozilla Firefox

1. Open the browser.
2. Press and hold down the Ctrl key, then press and hold down Shift and then click A.
3. Remove the unwanted extensions from the Extensions list if any are present.
4. Press Alt+T.
5. Click on Options.
6. Under the General Tab, change the home page and press OK.
7. To change the search engine, open the drop-down menu next to the search box and click on Manage Search Engines.
8. Remove Blekko or any other search engine that you want to get rid of and set a new one.
9. Restart the browser to see the changes.

Google Chrome

1. Open the browser.
2. Press and hold down the Alt key and press T.
3. Click on Tools and select Extensions.
4. Remove the unwanted add-on (for example, SimilarWeb).
5. Click on Settings.
6. In the On startup section, select the last option and click on Set Pages.
7. Remove the unwanted startup page and add a new one.
8. In the Search section, click on Manage search engine and set a preferred one.
9. Click on Done.
