Eknkfwovyzb Ransomware

Eknkfwovyzb Ransomware is as basic as they come. It slithers in. It encrypts files. It makes demands. There are no frills with this particular infection, and that is why we do not believe that it will become a major threat. That being said, if it invades Windows operating systems, it can cause irreversible damage to the files that are found on them. While this malware does not affect the system itself, it silently corrupts every single file that is identified as unique. That means that this infection is after photos, videos, documents, and similar kinds of files. Needless to say, when malware affects the way a system works, it is easy to reinstall it and start fresh. When it comes to personal files, you might be unable to “reinstall” them. If you have replacements for the files encrypted by the ransomware, you have nothing to worry about it. In either case, removing Eknkfwovyzb Ransomware is imperative. Continue reading to learn how this malware can be deleted from Windows.

The name of Eknkfwovyzb Ransomware has not been assigned by our researchers, it is the name that the infection pinned to itself inadvertently. That is because “.eknkfwovyzb” is the extension that the ransomware adds to all of the files that it encrypts. The threat uses a unique encryptor to change the data of the files, and that is why they cannot be read. It looks like your files are locked, and there is no way to unlock them. In theory, the attackers should have a decryption key that should make your files readable again, but we know that it is very unlikely that they would give it up. Of course, the illusion created by Eknkfwovyzb Ransomware is meant to give you a different idea. Once this threat is done encrypting all files, it drops “HOW TO RESTORE YOUR FILES.txt.” This ransom note file is not special in any way, and the message inside has been seen thousands of times before in different forms. According to this message, you must send three encrypted files to bcpfile17@tutanota.com or doctorhelp2120@cock.li if you want to have your files restored.

The attackers behind Eknkfwovyzb Ransomware cleverly mention nothing about how you are supposed to obtain the decryptor. If you read the ransom note, it might seem as if all you need to do is send an email and wait for the decryptor to fall into your lap. Obviously, cybercriminals would not waste their time with malware creation and distribution just for that. If you email them, they will instruct you to pay for the decryptor, and even if the ransom is small, you should not pay it. Sadly, once you email the attackers, they can terrorize you with unstoppable messages, and they can even design other scams. Did you know that Eknkfwovyzb Ransomware itself is most likely to spread via spam emails and hide as harmless attachments? Bundled downloaders presented via unreliable websites could be used to. Ultimately, we do not recommend communicating with cybercriminals, and we certainly do not recommend paying for any decryptor. You are unlikely to get anything in return. Obviously, if you do not have backup copies that could replace the corrupted files, you might choose to take a different route, but do so at your own risk.

There is not much to the removal of Eknkfwovyzb Ransomware. All you have to do is get rid of the ransom note file and also the launcher .exe file. Unfortunately, the name of this file is random, and we do not know where it could have been dropped on your computer. Due to this, we cannot tell you where to find it. Obviously, if you can locate this file – and you might be able to employ a malware scanner for the purpose – you have to delete it immediately. That, however, is not all that you need to take care of. Your system also needs to be protected because there are literally thousands of other threats (e.g., Homer Ransomware or Nypd Ransomware) that could strike next. This is why we advise implementing a trusted anti-malware program. It will simultaneously delete Eknkfwovyzb Ransomware and strengthen your system’s protection.
