Online Radio Finder Tab

Online Radio Finder Tab is advertised as a productivity app on the Chrome Web Store. Its installer can be found at chrome.google.com/webstore/detail//hdolpfpfiimgnjjojdkccplbegegcaai, but we do not advise installing this extension onto your Google Chrome browser. Yes, once it is installed, it can offer you access to third-party websites associated with radio via the New Tab page, but you do not actually need an extension to access these websites. It is easiest to bookmark them. Of course, we would not recommend removing Online Radio Finder Tab just because it appears to offer seemingly useless services. We are much more concerned about how this PUP (potentially unwanted program) gathers and shares data about you and your browsing activity. If you already know why you want to delete this PUP, move to the last section of our report to learn more about your options. If you have questions, keep reading.

Online Radio Finder Tab is introduced at onlineradiofinder.com, but the download button on this page opens the Chrome Web Store installer in a new window anyway. Sadly, just because a tool has an official website and is represented via a trusted app store, many people might trust it blindly. That is a mistake. While Online Radio Finder Tab is not the worst kind of malware that you might face, PUPs are not to be ignored. When you install the extension, it takes over the New Tab page with hp.honlineradiofinder.com, and the interface of this page can appear to be useful. At the top, you can find links to go.totalvideos.tv, tunein.com, youtube.com, and pandora.com. In the center, you can find a search dialog box. Below it, more links to popular third-party sites are shown. As we mentioned already, all of these websites can be bookmarked for easy access, but some Chrome users might find the PUP to be relatively useful. That being said, judging a book by its cover can be risky, and that is exactly the case with this PUP also.

The search tool presented by Online Radio Finder Tab is one of the reasons why we identify it as a PUP. First of all, it redirects to Yahoo Search, which is already a red flag. That means that the PUP does not actually offer a unique search service. This would not be so bad if the results were trustworthy; however, they are not. The PUP modifies them, and that is done to earn money via advertising. The creator of Online Radio Finder Tab is Endpoint Technologies Ltd., and it appears to be building numerous extensions (e.g., My Email Checker Tab, EasyCouponAccess, Weather Forecaster, etc.) just to build advertising platforms. They are all able to employ data-tracking tools to collect information about users and their activity. Even personally identifiable information cab be recorded and used. Data is also shared with the undisclosed advertising partners, and that is where things get really unpredictable. Who is working with Eightpoint Technologies? What data can they access? What kinds of ads can they present? There is too much that is unknown, and that is why we recommend deleting the PUP.

We hope that you now understand why we recommend deleting Online Radio Finder Tab. This extension is simply not useful enough to sacrifice your virtual security for, and it is possible that your security could be jeopardized if you interacted with the modified search results shown via Yahoo Search or allowed the PUP to continue tracking your activity. At the time of research, only Google Chrome users needed to remove Online Radio Finder Tab, which is why that is the only browser that is represented in the guide below. Of course, if you need any additional guides, we can provide them to you. Should you choose to follow the instructions below, do not skip the second portion, in which we show how to clear browsing data. All in all, even though we believe that manual removal is a valid option in this case, we advise installing anti-malware software anyway. It will automatically erase threats – and this is great if multiple of them exist – but, most importantly, it will keep you protected, which is a luxury you have to exploit.
