AllConvertersSearch

AllConvertersSearch sounds like a tool that can find you all converters. This is certainly an exaggeration, and if you have this extension installed on your Google Chrome browser already, you know that. This strange extension is linked to portal.allconverterssearch.com, which does offer a file converter and both currency and cryptocurrency converters. That being said, when we analyzed the PUP (potentially unwanted program), it did not use this webpage. Instead, it relied solely on feed.allconverterssearch.com, which we talk more about further in this report. Our research team is quite familiar with this PUP, simply because it is a clone of TopStreamsSearch, VidSearch, MusicStreamSearch, SearchProConverter, and many other extensions alike. We recommend deleting them for the same reasons, and if you are not sure what these reasons are, you should continue reading. In our report, you will also find information that will help you remove AllConvertersSearch.

It is possible that you downloaded the suspicious AllConvertersSearch from the Chrome Web Store at chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/allconverterssearch/eifimbllhgpjempbefoanmcgmidfbicd. This app store is considered to be reliable, but what Chrome users do not understand is that suspicious and even unreliable extensions could be promoted as well. It is also important how users are introduced to this installer. If you were redirected to the Chrome Web Store via a button, link, ad, or simply by visiting a certain website, it is possible that you have been tricked. In another scenario, you might have been introduced to AllConvertersSearch as you were trying to download something else. If that is what happened, this PUP is not the only piece of software that you might need to look into. If you cannot examine the downloaded pieces yourself, why not install a trusted, free malware scanner that will do the job automatically? That is definitely something that our researchers recommend doing. Hopefully, if any threats are detected, you can remove all of them manually, but do not be discouraged if you can’t. There are other methods of removal that you can employ.

We recommend deleting AllConvertersSearch due to several reasons. First of all, this tool is not useful. When you install it, it changes the default search provider to feed.allconverterssearch.com. This search tool is not trustworthy because it redirects to Yahoo Search. The results are modified to showcase the links of third parties. These parties are not revealed by the unknown creator of the PUP, and that is why trusting the search results could be risky. Furthermore, AllConvertersSearch tracks information about users. It is stated (in the Privacy Policy) that this information is meant to help with the service, but you have to think very carefully every time you face a tool that takes on privileges that seem to be incompatible with the provided services. If the PUP is meant to help you find converters, it certainly does not need to gather personally identifiable information or pass it on to undisclosed partners. Now that you have all information about the PUP, you have to decide for yourself if deleting it is what you want. If you think that you have reasons to keep it installed, please think about these reasons carefully.

We can show you how to remove AllConvertersSearch. It is not a complicated process at all, and we are sure that most people will be able to delete this potentially unwanted program manually. Of course, it is worth questioning whether that is the best option. We believe that it is not, especially if other PUPs or even threats are involved. Legitimate anti-malware software can delete AllConvertersSearch and any other threats automatically, and it can even ensure reliable protection afterward. Full-time protection is something that you need if you are interested in keeping your browsers and operating system free from malware now and in the future. It is only natural if you have other questions about the PUP, its removal, or the security of your operating system. Our team is ready to address them, and all you need to do is post your questions in the comments section.
