ADHUBLLKA Ransomware

You can tell if ADHUBLLKA Ransomware has a hold over your personal files if the “.ADHUBLLKA” extension is attached to their names. For many victims of this malware, the extension is the first sign that something has happened to their files. Of course, if it was just an added extension, one could delete it to regain full control. Unfortunately, the extension is just a marker, and the real mess is within the data of the files. It is encrypted, which makes the files unreadable. A decryption key is likely to exist, but it is unlikely that the attackers behind this malware would share it with their victims. Even if they fulfilled the demands that we discuss further in the report, the tool is unlikely to be exchanged in return for the money. Without a doubt, if your files were encrypted, you might be worried about your files, but that is not the only thing you need to worry about. It is also important that you figure out how to remove ADHUBLLKA Ransomware and also secure your system against other threats.

Just like Somik1 Ransomware, C0hen Locker Ransomware, Dever Ransomware, MZP Ransomware, and many other threats alike, ADHUBLLKA Ransomware was created to make money for cybercriminals. They might use spam emails, unreliable downloaders, and social engineering scams to expose Windows users to the launcher of this threat so that they could be tricked into executing it. Once that is done, ADHUBLLKA Ransomware is quick to encrypt files. It does not affect system files, but it certainly can encrypt photos, videos, documents, and other files that you might not have copies of. If you have copies stored outside the computer (e.g., online or on external hard drives), you have one less thing to worry about because your files are not completely lost. Sure, you might not be able to decrypt the corrupted files, but you should be able to replace them. If copies of the corrupted files do not exist, you might pay too much attention to the message that is delivered using a file named “read_me.txt.” If you notice copies of this file, you want to make sure that every single one of them is deleted.

The message inside the ADHUBLLKA Ransomware text file declares that your files were encrypted with the strongest encryption key and that the only way you can restore them is by purchasing a decryptor. The sum of the ransom is not revealed, but it is stated that if you send an email to pr0t3eam@protonmail.com within 72 hours, you can get a discount. The message also warns not to trust third-party decryption tools. It is true that unreliable decryptors exist, but that does not mean that you cannot trust any of them. Unfortunately, when we analyzed the threat, legitimate decryptors were not able to decipher the encryptor used by ADHUBLLKA Ransomware. That being said, we do NOT recommend communicating with the attackers because they could send you malicious files or links, force you to fulfill other demands, and also share your email address with other schemers. If you are determined to contact the attackers, rest assured that they will force you to pay a ransom, but remember that you are unlikely to obtain a decryptor if you agree to pay it. This is a very sticky situation, and we hope that you can find a way out of it.

There isn’t much to the removal of ADHUBLLKA Ransomware. All you really need to worry about is the .exe file that launched the threat. Besides that, the infection only creates the ransom note file, and while it is not malicious per se, we recommend removing it too. That being said, although there aren’t many steps that need to be performed, deleting ADHUBLLKA Ransomware manually might be impossible for some victims. We cannot point you to the launcher file because we simply do not know where it exists. If you can delete it yourself – go ahead; if you are struggling – install a legitimate anti-malware program. In fact, this is what we recommend doing, regardless of whether or not you can clear your system from threats yourself. That is because besides ensuring complete elimination of malicious threats, this program can help you protect your operating system against them in the future too.
