DailyFunnyWorld Toolbar

DailyFunnyWorld Toolbar comes at you with such proclamations as “A Joke A Day Keeps The Doctor Away!” or “Get A Funny Joke A Day,” and it promises to provide you with an inexhaustible source of funny memes and gifs that you can enjoy on your own or share with others. As an added bonus – according to the creator of this extension – you get a “convenient web search” tool that you can use to browse the web. When you face that kind of information, the idea that something could go wrong might not even cross your mind. Unfortunately, the allegedly beneficial toolbar is just another potentially unwanted program (PUP), whose services cannot be fully trusted. Needless to say, we recommend removing DailyFunnyWorld Toolbar from your Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox browsers or uninstalling it from Windows if you use Internet Explorer. If you are interested in deleting the PUP, you can find a guide below, but we invite you to read the report first to understand the suspicious application better.

Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Internet Explorer users can download DailyFunnyWorld Toolbar from dailyfunnyworld.com, but only Google Chrome users can find it represented via the Chrome web store at chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/dailyfunnyworld/oiedaodjjdfnkfjaphcklblcolefkigc. Everyone knows that trusting websites is not always a good idea, but not everyone might now that even seemingly reliable and trusted sources can end up promoting PUPs or even malware. While the Chrome web store can remain your primary source of extensions, you want to become more cautious. Next time, research the extension before installing it. If you researched DailyFunnyWorld Toolbar, you would know that this PUP belongs to the Mindspark Interactive Network, Inc. family, just like GiffySocial Toolbar, LearnTheLyrics Toolbar, and even EverydayMemo Toolbar, which appears to offer a similar service. While these apps are mostly identical, our research team analyses them separately to offer unique removal guides.

So, why exactly should you delete these seemingly beneficial tools? First of all, are they really beneficial? The PUP we are discussing in this report takes over the New Tab and display easy-access links to such websites as 9gag.com/video/, mastjoke.com, comedycentral.co.uk, or funnyjokesfactory.co.uk, and while these links are legitimate, the extension itself does not offer a unique service. This is one of the reasons why we can call it a potentially unwanted program. After all, if you are willing to let in a tool that is capable of spying on you, you want to reap some benefits too. Did you know that DailyFunnyWorld Toolbar could spy on you? If you used the Chrome web store to install this PUP, you should have noticed the pop-up warning that it can read and change data on websites, read browsing history, and even manage downloads, apps, and extensions. This is quite intrusive, and that might be another reason to delete the extension. Furthermore, the Privacy Policy informs that cookies – some of which might be operated by unknown third parties – can track activity and record information.

There is one more thing that is very unnerving, and that is that DailyFunnyWorld Toolbar exposes users to an unpredictable search engine. Even though it is suggested that this search tool is “enhanced by Google,” that does not mean that you can trust it just as you would trust Google Chrome. When you type in any keyword, you are redirected to search.myway.com, and any kinds of results could be shown. Sure, the basis should be Google results, but the rest could be sponsored links and ads, and you want to avoid those because of the risk of facing malvertising. According to our research, depending on which browser you install the toolbar onto, this search tool could be represented via the homepage as well.

You have plenty of reasons to delete DailyFunnyWorld Toolbar, and you have plenty of options to handle it too. First, we would recommend installing anti-malware software because in case the PUP was installed along with other unwanted programs or malware, you might need the reinforcement of an automated remover. Furthermore, you clearly need protection against PUPs and more dangerous infections, and anti-malware software can offer that. If none of that concerns you, go ahead and remove DailyFunnyWorld Toolbar manually using the instructions below. If you have questions regarding the process, add them to the comments section.
