LearnTheLyrics Toolbar

A new toolbar – LearnTheLyrics Toolbar – has been presented by Mindspark Interactive Network, Inc. It promises to make it extremely easy to find song lyrics. It seems that 32,847 users have really found it quite useful because they have already installed the extension of LearnTheLyrics Toolbar from the Chrome Web Store. No doubt it is not the only download website it has. Users can get this browser plugin from its official website http://www.learnthelyrics.com as well. If you have not installed LearnTheLyrics Toolbar yet, you should not hurry to do that because it does not necessarily mean that you will find it beneficial if other users did. A bunch of users decide to get rid of LearnTheLyrics Toolbar immediately after installing it on their computers because they find out that it alters browsers’ settings only after its installation. It will act the same no matter you get it from the Chrome Web Store, its official website, or some kind of third-party website. Luckily, it is not that hard to remove LearnTheLyrics Toolbar from the system, so if you have installed it but changed your opinion about it, you can erase it today without difficulty.

Some users find LearnTheLyrics Toolbar beneficial and decide to keep it, but some others erase it immediately. If you find it hard to decide what to do with it, we would suggest that you delete this browser plugin because it is another potentially unwanted program. In other words, it is not a dangerous threat, but there is still a possibility that it will act in a way you will not like. As mentioned, many users decide to delete LearnTheLyrics Toolbar from their PCs soon after installing it consciously on their systems because they find their browsers’ settings (LearnTheLyrics Toolbar is compatible with Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, and Google Chrome) altered. Speaking specifically, the browser plugin changes the default user’s homepage and New Tab page. The page set is an ordinary search provider that contains buttons that open song lyrics. LearnTheLyrics Toolbar does not store all those lyrics itself. Instead, these quick-access buttons that can be found on the set page open a third-party service. While the browser plugin itself is not malicious, we would still be careful with the search results its search tool displays because there is a possibility that some of the search results you will be presented with will be modified. These search results simply direct traffic to certain websites. It is not very likely that you will find what you are searching for on them, and, on top of that, it is possible that you will find yourself on some kind of untrustworthy website with unreliable software and/or links if you click on all the search results you are provided with.

A bunch of programs collect information about users these days, and it seems that LearnTheLyrics Toolbar is no exception. We have asked our malware researchers to analyze its Privacy Policy document to find out what kinds of details this potentially unwanted program records. It has turned out that it does not record any personal details unless they are provided by the user consciously. Instead, it focuses on the collection of the so-called non-personal information, including users’ IP addresses, browser type, language, search query text, and search results users get. It is very likely that Mindspark Interactive Network, Inc. is not the only company that will make use of the recorded data. The collected information might also be shared with service providers, business partners, and advertisers/ad networks, as stated in the Privacy Policy document. While a bunch of various programs collect information about users, it might be quite risky to let a potentially unwanted program perform this activity. There are no guarantees that it will use the collected data with respect.

Since potentially unwanted programs are not harmful threats, it is usually quite easy to delete them. We can say the same about the LearnTheLyrics Toolbar removal. You could uninstall the Internet Explorer version of LearnTheLyrics Toolbar using Control Panel. As for Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome, you will remove LearnTheLyrics Toolbar completely by deleting the browser extension representing it from these web browsers. To do so, you need to access the so-called add-ons manager. If this does not tell you much, feel free to use our removal guide provided below.
