Danger level 3
Type: Potentially Unwanted Application

ID SafeXpress

According to ID SafeXpress description it “cleans all privacy issues that are on your PC!” It is important to mention the software can do so only if the user purchases its license. In other words, the free version of it does not do anything else besides scanning the system, showing the number of detected issues, and asking to activate the so-called “cleaning” function. Another thing you should know is our researchers say there is a possibility the application might show errors that do not exist as we find it suspicious it detected an enormously huge number of issues on our test computer. Because of this and other reasons, we will discuss later in the article; we decided to categorize ID SafeXpress as a potentially unwanted program. Since we doubt its reliability, we do not recommend keeping it installed or purchasing it without being able to test it completely. If you do not think this tool is worthy of your trust either, we advise you to slide below the text and erase it while following the given instructions or with a reliable antimalware tool.

The potentially unwanted program in question can be downloaded from idsafexpress.com; it’s official web page. However, our researchers also think ID SafeXpress could be distributed with bundled software installers. A bundled setup file is an installer that carries more than one application. In some cases, the additional suggestions are seen only if the user chooses custom installation settings, and there are also situations when the installer says there will be more programs installed, but does not mention them or allows to deselect them.

If the tool is legitimate and you are downloading it from a reputable and harmless web page, the software bundled with it should be safe too. Unfortunately, if you download applications from torrent and other file-sharing web pages, there is a chance their setup files might be bundled with adware, browser hijackers, potentially unwanted programs, or even malware. Because of this we advise staying away from sites allowing to download pirated software, suspicious freeware, and so on. Additionally, it is recommendable to always be cautious during the installation. If you notice any doubtful conditions, you could simply cancel the process instead of taking any chances.

Besides the possibility ID SafeXpress might be spread with unreliable tools, and via doubtful file-sharing web pages, there is something else that shows the tool might be untrustworthy. What we have in mind is the potentially unwanted program’s working manner. The free application’s version allows only to scan the system and afterward it shows messages urging to buy its license and activate the cleaning function. As strange as it may sounds, but the user is in fact asked to buy a tool without being able to test it and see if the additional features are worth the proposed price.

Thus, instead of investing in an unreliable program you are not even sure can live up to your expectations, we advise you to find a more reputable application you could first try and only then purchase its license if you want to. As for ID SafeXpress, our researchers do not see any point in keeping it since no matter how many thousands of issues it detects (in our case it was a bit more than 5000 privacy issues), it will not allow you to fix them. Not to mention there is not knowing if the detected problems actually exist.

Lastly, we would like to talk about how users could get rid of this potentially unwanted program. One of the ways to erase it is to find it via Control Panel and simply uninstall it. If you have no idea how to do this, you can follow the deletion instructions located a bit below, and they will explain what to do step by step. The other way to remove ID SafeXpress from the computer is to install a reputable antimalware tool and use its scanning feature to detect files belonging to the unwanted application or other possible threats to the system. After the scan, all that would be left to do is press the deletion button and erase all detections automatically.
