Crimson RAT

Crimson RAT is a Remote Administration Tool basically that first emerged back in 2012; however, cyber crooks have used it as a base to create new versions for their malicious purposes. This is why some malware hunters actually call it as a Remote Access Trojan because it is what it is. There could be lots of variations out there spreading on the web; therefore, we cannot really talk about specific ones. Yet, it is important that you learn about the dangers and risks such a Trojan program may cause if it manages to slither onto your system. This tool is programmed in Java and is cross-platform, therefore, it can be used both on Windows and Linux as well. Such a Trojan can do a lot of damage on your system if it is left operating for a longer period of time. You could be annoyed by fake system error messages, which could lead to real system errors if followed through, your registry could be changed, information could be stolen from your computer, and so on. All this, of course, behind your back since this Trojan may also disable your security software. We advise you to act right now and remove Crimson RAT from your PC.

You can infect your system with this Trojan quite easily; all it may take is a click on the wrong content while browsing the web. You could be prompted by banners or pop-ups to install software or an update on questionable websites or generated by adware programs hiding on your system. You should give a wide berth to suspicious websites generally associated with file sharing, online betting, gaming, and porn. Clicking on any content on such pages could be harmful as you may open malicious pages on new tabs or drop bundles of malicious threats in one go. It is essential that you become more cautious about your web surfing and stop clicking on random third-party ads. It is important for you to know that when your computer is infected, for example, with adware, you could be exposed to unsafe third-party ads on any website, including legitimate ones. This is why we suggest that you use a trustworthy online malware scanner to identify all the possible threats on your PC right after you delete Crimson RAT.

As we have already mentioned, this tool is originally a publicly available program that has been used by crooks to create Trojans that can cause all kinds of system security-related problems for you on your PC. Because of the number of possible variations, it is hard to say anything specific but you may notice some of these issues and some may remain hidden from your eyes, too. It is possible that you are bothered by annoying pop-up or banner messages claiming that your system has been infected and you need to install an update or a security tool right now. But after clicking on such a fake alert, you would simply drop further malicious threats onto your machine. This Trojan may also disable your security program and stay totally hidden from you. It is obviously dangerous to keep such a tool on your system because you have no idea what it might do and what kind of information it may gather and steal about you. Therefore, we highly recommend that you remove Crimson RAT from your computer right now.

It is not that easy to entirely eliminate this dangerous threat because of the number of possible variations. Also, this Trojan may create a Point of Execution in your Run registry key as well as scheduled tasks to make sure that it starts up automatically every time you start up your system. So it is essential that you delete these modifications and all related files as well. We have prepared a guide for you below this report so that you can manually delete the mess this threat may have created on your system. Please remember that there may be other threats on board as well. Thus, we advise you to use a reliable anti-malware program like SpyHunter to automatically take care of all system security-related issues, present and future as well.
