Danger level 6
Type: Adware redirect redirect is a known adware server that can redirect you to all kinds of promoted websites. Some of them can be legitimate while others can pose a threat to your computer’s security. Therefore, we believe that it is vital that you remove whatever software you have on your computer that is redirecting that loads redirect which, in turn, redirects you to promoted sites. In the worst case scenario, this adware server can subject you to malware downloads or scan websites that can attempt to extort money from you.

Unfortunately, there is little to no information on how this adware server gets on your PC. Nevertheless, one thing is for sure — this server gets onto PCs via software. We believe that this adware server should come in adware or potentially unwanted programs. The programs that host this server are most likely distributed using software bundles or dedicated distribution websites. In the case of software bundles, certain ad-supported software can be included in a bundled installer that can be set to install it without your knowledge or permission. Depending on the nature of the bundle, the installation wizard can allow you to deselect undesirable software. Nevertheless, some malicious installers can inject software featuring redirect automatically and not allow you to opt out.

If malicious software or a potentially unwanted program gets installed on your PC, then it might open redirect in a separate new tab page or a new window. This adware server is sort of a middleman that was designed to redirect you to redirect you to promoted websites. The precise URL you get redirected to is which, in turn, redirects you to a random promoted website. Testing has shown that most of the promoted sites were legitimate. This adware server promotes computer games, loans, and so on. However, we have found that some of the promoted links offer you to update your Adobe Flash Player that does not really update the player but installs adware-type software or potentially unwanted programs. The fact of the matter is that redirect can subject you to potentially dangerous content that can jeopardize your computer’s security. Your computer can become infected with malware by accident, and there is no telling how malicious that software can be.

Therefore, it is paramount that you get an anti-malware program to protect your PC from software that can show redirect’s advertisements. It is yet not clear whether that software comes in the form of an executable application or a browser extension. Furthermore, it is unknown which web browsers support that browser extension. Therefore, we recommend that you delete redirect using SpyHunter’s free scanner to detect the malicious program and then going to the location of the malware to remove it manually.
