Private Search Plus

Private Search Plus is one of those applications that come forth promising some useful service, but in reality, they just need to use you for their own purposes. Our security researchers categorize this application as a potentially unwanted program. It means that Private Search Plus is not a malicious infection, but more often than not users install it on their computers accidentally, and then they probably want to get rid of it, but they are at a loss as to how they are supposed to do it. In this description, we will tell you how to get rid of Private Search Plus for good.

The program actually strikes as a cheap rip-off of the GoGameGo application because they share the same homepage address. However, if you were to visit gamesshop.co.in, you would not find any information on either of the programs because the website is down, and it only displays the GoGameGo logo. If you happen to have the GoGameGo application installed on your computer, it is strongly recommended that you remove it, too.

Now, since the official website does not work, the program obviously has other ways to enter your system. The thing is that this application can also be found on the Chrome Web Store. So in some cases, it might seem that the product is reliable. If you check the section on the Chrome Web Store, the description of the tool would say that you can “search the web without tracking your search history or any personally identifiable information,” once you add this extension to your browser. And, as you can probably tell, Private Search Plus is compatible only with the Chrome browser so far.

Nevertheless, the Chrome Web Store also is not the only distribution source. You can probably tell that, especially if your copy did not come from this extension database. In fact, more often than not, such potentially unwanted programs come bundled with freeware. It means that at the same time users install multiple applications via third-party installers. It is a very common occurrence because people are more willingly to download and install a program from a third-party website as it is often free. What they do not realize, however, is the fact that these third-party installers bundle several applications together. So alongside the program you want to have, you will also get several other applications, too. And Private Search Plus will probably be just one of them.

How to know whether you have unwanted programs on-board? You can always scan your computer with the SpyHunter free scanner. It is always a good idea to run a regular system scan with a security tool because you can never know when potential threats could enter your system. Hence, when you get down to removing from your system, you should also terminate other unwanted applications. It is always better to be safe than sorry.

What if you keep Private Search Plus on your browser? Of course, this extension cannot steal your banking logins or passwords, but the longer it remains on your computer, the more annoying this application will become. We most certainly know that the application monitors your online activity. It can also redirect your search queries via the yotosearch.com domain. Yotosearch.com is yet another browser hijacker associated with potentially unwanted software. It basically just proves that that it never rains, but it pours. In other words, if you have one unfamiliar app on-board, be ready to discover a few others.

One of the biggest security threats associated with Private Search Plus and others similar extensions is the potential malicious exploitation. Although the extension itself does not intend to infect you with malware, some of its functions and features could be exploited by cyber criminals. For example, if the program can display modified search results, then a malevolent third party could embed their content into those results. This is possible because Private Search Plus does not review the third-party content.

Hence, you have to prevent that by deleting Private Search Plus today. It is very easy to remove the application via browser’s settings. We will even give you the manual below. However, if you feel that you cannot do it on your own, or if you think that there might be many other undesirable products installed, you can always ask for guidelines by leaving a comment below.
