OnlineMapSearch Toolbar

Why have you downloaded OnlineMapSearch Toolbar? Was it because it offers free driving directions and maps? This toolbar can only provide you with access to sites where such services are offered, and so the usefulness of this extension is truly questionable. It is most likely that Mindspark Interactive Network – the developer – is earning money from promoting these third-party services. The good news is that the links promoted via the toolbar are legitimate. For example, if you click the “Traffic Maps” button at the top, you will be provided with access to wego.here.com, trafficland.com, and waze.com. The “Map Links” tool promotes earthobservatory.nasa.gov/GlobalMaps/, terrafly.fiu.edu, and other authentic and, possibly, helpful sites. Despite this, not every part of the toolbar is beneficial or reliable, and this is what might make you want to delete it. Keep reading to learn why you might want to remove OnlineMapSearch Toolbar from your browsers as well.

Mindspark Interactive Network has developed a ton of seemingly helpful apps, including ListingsPortal Toolbar, EasyFileConvert Toolbar, and TotalRecipeSearch Toolbar. All of them have individual download sites, and the one representing the toolbar we are discussing is free.onlinemapsearch.com/index.jhtml. If you visit this website on Chrome, you will be introduced to an installer that is actually hosted on Chrome web store. If you visit it on Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox, you will be asked to check a box indicating homepage and New Tab modifications. If you do not check this box, you are not allowed to install OnlineMapSearch Toolbar. That means that you are forced to install MyWay, and that is not the best introduction to this search tool. If you are installing the toolbar onto Chrome, you will be introduced to it via the New Tab page. This search tool is extremely suspicious because it, allegedly, is enhanced by Google. That, of course, does not mean that it is just as reliable and useful as the Google search tool.

Whether you enter keywords into the search dialog box in the middle of the New Tab page or the box attached to the toolbar, you are routed to the same search results page. Have you noticed that more results are identified as “Ads” and “Searches Related” than “Web Results?” Clearly, MyWay works as an advertising tool, and this is the main reason why OnlineMapSearch Toolbar does not look good. Although it promotes links to all these useful and popular sites, it cannot offer you beneficial or reliable search services. Considering that you are forced to replace your regular homepage with hp.myway.com, the credibility of OnlineMapSearch Toolbar dissipates. Do you think you can trust a piece of software that pushes you to use an unreliable search tool? You are right to be concerned, and our research team advises deleting the toolbar because of that. Unfortunately, you cannot actually delete MyWay without erasing the toolbar as well, and so we recommend removing this toolbar.

Have you installed the suspicious OnlineMapSearch Toolbar along with third-party software? This might have happened if the toolbar was offered as an additional piece along with a more desirable program. If that has happened, you should scan your operating system first before you delete the toolbar. Why? It is possible that more unreliable and malicious programs are active on your operating system right now. If that is the case, you might want to attend to these programs first. Of course, that is something to worry about if you are choosing the manual removal route. If you decide to install an automated malware remover, all threats will be eliminated at the same time.

Needless to say, anti-malware software is the best at finding and erasing malicious components, but that does not mean that you have to choose this option. If you are experienced, you might be able to clean your entire operating system manually. We have created instructions that show how to delete OnlineMapSearch Toolbar from the browsers it affects. As you can see, you need to erase an extension from Chrome and Firefox browsers, but if the toolbar works on Internet Explorer, you need to uninstall a program. If you are having any issues with the removal instructions represented below, feel free to start a discussion in the comments section.
