Danger level 7
Type: Browser Hijackers
Common infection symptoms:
  • Hijacks homepage
  • Changes default search engine

It is possible that appears in your browsers when you start them up, which should trigger your sense of virtual security if you really care about the safety of your computer. This potentially unreliable search engine is indeed a new browser hijacker developed by Linkury, Inc. (, which looks like a decent company if you check out their website. However, this does not mean that their search engine is trustworthy at all. In fact, it is simply used for promoting third parties and thus generating money for its authors, which in itself would not be a big problem but what about third parties that may not be as reliable as others? Unfortunately, it is possible that this search engine exposes you to unsafe third-party links and advertisements through modified search results. Another issue with the presence of this malware infection on your PC is that it may indicate that other malware programs are also hiding on your system. Therefore, we advise you to remove ASAP and do not stop until you weed out all possibly harmful applications.

We do not believe that a lot of users have installed this search engine knowingly or on purpose. As a matter of fact, this may only be possible when you are installing one of the applications developed by Linkury. However, reports show that more and more users are surprised to find this browser hijacker in their browsers, which only proves that there has to be another way for it to spread over the web. Well, our research shows that this hijacker can be found distributed in bundles. The problem with that is that these bundles are not really the beneficial or useful kind; on the contrary, these bundles could be packing a bunch of other malware threats as well, including adware programs, Trojans, fake alerts, backdoors, and more. This is why you cannot delete alone from your browsers and go on with your virtual life like you are finished. It is also vital that you detect all other threats and eliminate them in one go.

It is possible to download bundles when you are looking for free files to download and end up on questionable shareware, freeware, or torrent sites. These pages can promote unreliable third-party installers that can pack several malware infections alongside legitimate free software. This is exactly why you should stick to official sites only so that you do not end up with a malicious package on board. These risky pages hide other threats as well. You may have noticed that most file-sharing, gaming, and gambling pages host an annoying number of third-party ads.

Well, these ads can also be disguised or downright invisible to you. This means that if you are unfamiliar with the particular page you land on after a web search, you can easily click on content that could result in the drop of a malicious bundle onto your machine. Yet another possibility for you to download such a package is that your system is infected with malware, such as adware programs and browser hijackers, which may display unreliable ads and links to you that lead to malicious sites or directly drop a bundle. We hope that you can understand now why it is so important that after you delete, you clean every single malware infections you may still find on board.

This is a very simple search engine that only offers you a search field as well as a choice of selection of languages in a drop-down menu. It seems that this search engine uses its own engine without redirecting you to any one of the usually applied reputable third-party search engines, including Google, Yahoo, and Bing. However, these results could be unreliable and contain third-party ads and sponsored links that may be risky to click on. These may drop infections or open new browser windows or simply tabs and load fake and malicious websites trying to scam you in some ways. So, on the one hand you may increase the potential dangers on board, while on the other hand you may also lose money and your personal details as well if cyber criminals manage to fool you. We believe that you would like to avoid such situations and this is why we advise you to remove from your browsers.

If you are wondering how you could do that, we are here to help you with the necessary steps. In fact, you can choose to restore the home page URL settings directly in your browsers, which is quite straightforward, or you can choose the manual method by following our guide below.
