Search.searchlivesp.com

Most users let in Search.searchlivesp.com without even realizing it. This browser hijacker is attached to an extension called “Live Sports Player,” and the hijacker changes the homepage or New Tab whether you like it or not. If you install it on Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox browsers, you should be able to get rid of the hijacker by deleting the extension, and if you installed it via Internet Explorer, you might need to uninstall an application via Control Panel. Although most users are surprised by the entrance of the suspicious hijacker, not all of them rush to get rid of it. That is because it looks like a regular search provider that also displays links to popular sports-related websites. Though this hijacker looks useful, it is not as great as you might think. In fact, we suggest removing Search.searchlivesp.com because it is considered useless, as well as potentially unreliable. Are you surprised? If you are, you will find the information in this report very interesting. Please continue reading, and if questions come up, add them to the comments section.

Search.searchlivesp.com is not a threat that has surprised our research team. That is because this hijacker is identical to hundreds of other hijackers developed by Polarity Technologies Ltd. Others include the recently analyzed Search.searchfindactivec.com, Search.searchdcnow.com, and Search.searchyea.com. Of course, they are associated with different extensions, which, by the way, are promoted on different sites. The “Live Sports Player” extension is available at www.livesportsplayer.com, as well as the Chrome web store. This suspicious add-on is allegedly capable of giving you access to football, baseball, and other sports directly from your New Tab page. It might seem as if this extension can stream sports events live, when, in reality, all it can do is display links to espn.com, nfl.com, nbcsports.com/live, and collegesportslive.com. You can access these websites from your browser without having to interact with a suspicious extension and hijacker. This is why this software is believed to be useless and why we suggest its removal. Even the search tool is useless because it only redirects to Yahoo Search. If you think that there is nothing wrong with that, you are wrong.

Although Search.searchlivesp.com poses as a search provider, it does not work like one. Of course, it can redirect you to Yahoo Search to deliver search results, but that does not make the hijacker trustworthy or beneficial. In fact, it exploits the well-known and popular search engine just so you would trust the content shown to you, and it might include unreliable links. Do not blame Yahoo for showing annoying ads or unreliable content because Search.searchlivesp.com might be responsible for that. Unfortunately, that is not all that you need to worry about. This hijacker is also dangerous because it could leak personally identifiable information to potentially unreliable parties. The Privacy Policy statement reveals the fact about the collection of this kind of data, and, considering that the parties working with Polarity Technologies Ltd are not revealed, we have to consider the possibility of them being unreliable. Do you want to possibly put yourself at risk for the services offered by this strange hijacker? We are sure you do not.

Search.searchlivesp.com is potentially unreliable because it can record private information. It is also considered useless because it does not function in a beneficial manner, and its services are not exclusive or unique. Due to these reasons, the users of this hijacker are advised to delete it. Since it is not difficult to delete Search.searchlivesp.com manually, we have created an easy-to-follow guide, which you can find below. Unfortunately, this hijacker could have entered your PC bundled with malware that might be harder to eliminate. In this case, a legitimate anti-malware tool is the most useful instrument, and we encourage you to install it even if you are only dealing with the hijacker. If you have no idea how many infections are present on your operating system, you can install a malware scanner to help you figure that out. Note that if you decide to erase all threats manually, you can use the guides on this website.
