It is also possible that a well-known company hides behind this name. We do not know if the suspicious search tool has clones, but that is always possible. Our research has revealed that the threat is only capable of modifying the homepage URL on Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome browsers, but it could be upgraded to target different browsers. So, was your homepage modified with or without your permission? If you gave the permission to have your homepage replaced, you probably think that the browser hijacker is genuine and reliable. Mozilla Firefox:

  1. Tap Win+E keys to access Windows Explorer.
  2. Enter %AppData%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ into the bar at the top.
  3. Open the folder representing your Firefox profile.
  4. Open the file called prefs.js (we recommend using Notepad).
  5. Find the hijacker’s URL in the user_pref("browser.startup.homepage", ""); string and replace it with the preferred URL.
  6. Save the file and then close it.

Google Chrome:

  1. Tap Win+E keys to access Windows Explorer:
  2. Enter %LocalAppData%\Google\Chrome\User Data\ (enter %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\User Data\ if you are on Windows XP) into the bar at the top.
  3. Open the Default folder (or the folder representing your Chrome profile).
  4. Open the file called Preferences (we recommend using Notepad).
  5. Find the hijacker’s URL, replace it with the desired URL, and then save the file.
  6. Open the file called Secure Preferences and repeat step 5.
  7. Open the file called Web Data and repeat step 5.
