AntiSpyware Protector

AntiSpyware Protector (AntiSpywareProtector) is rogue optimization software that was designed to display false and exaggerated results, as a means to coerce a user into purchasing the full version software. AntiSpyware Protector is an application that attempts to extort passwords to the "Lineage" online game. Once it has intercepted the system users password, AntiSpyware Protector will transmit this to the creator of the Trojan. AntiSpyware Protector tends to also modify the Windows host file, in order to redirect access to computer security websites. AntiSpyware Protector is advertised through the use of advertisements that pretend to be online scanners. AntiSpyware Protector will then prompt the user to download and install AntiSpyware Protector, so as to attempt to create a solution and fix the user’s computer. These scanners, though, are also scams and have no way of knowing what is running on your computer and thus can be ignored. Should a user actually download and install AntiSpyware Protector, then the program will start every time the computer is rebooted. Once started, it will scan the computer and state that the system can run more efficiently if the user purchases AntiSpyware Protector and lets it optimize the computer. In fact, it has been shown that by just having AntiSpyware Protector running on a computer can ensure the computer functions slower and run less efficiently. The term Trojan refers to the fact this particular malware; AntiSpyware Protector is not only installed under deceptive pretences, but also refers to the fact that it will infiltrate the user’s PC without their approval or knowledge. AntiSpyware Protector is particularly damaging to a computer system, once it has fully embedded itself within the PC’s system, therefore it is given a high priority security risk status by many computer analysts.
