Danger level 7
Type: Browser Hijackers
Common infection symptoms:
  • Hijacks homepage
  • Changes default search engine is a browser hijacker, so there is nothing reliable about this “search engine.” Of course, you may argue that the page looks reliable, but that is the point here: the malicious infection wants you to think that the program is the real deal, while it tricks you into clicking links to affiliated websites. If you fail to recognize the danger behind this application, you might soon have to deal with an extremely dangerous security threat. Please remove from your system right now, and then terminate other unwanted applications. We believe that you have more than just one potential threat on-board.

Now, why are we so sure that you have more unwanted apps on your PC? The trend is that such applications seldom travel on their own. In other words, random programs usually get installed on target computers in packs. They are bundled in third-party installers, and users can download those installers from file-sharing websites. Of course, no one informs users that the installer carries more than just one application. Also, users tend to breeze through the installation as they think the steps are rather generic. In some cases, the installation wizard might give you the chance to deselect unwanted applications, and thus it would be possible to avoid installing an entire list of potential threats. Unfortunately, since users are not aware of the security risks, they go straight to finish.

Consequently, and many other unwanted applications manage to enter their computers. It is just that, perhaps, this browser hijacker is the most obvious intruder that tries to take over your web browsing habits. Upon the installation, it will change your homepage and default search engine on your default browser. So the next time you try to access the Internet, you will see this hijacker’s interface on your screen.

Let us take a closer look at it, and see what is fundamentally wrong with it. For starters, is too crowded for a regular search engine. Some users may argue that it is a good idea to have shortcuts to Facebook, Twitter, Booking, Gmail, YouYube, and many other popular websites, but you can easily save these shortcuts on your browser’s shortcut bar, too. So this feature becomes obsolete. Not to mention that multiple features on the same page may slow down your browser, depending on your system’s resources. So it is highly doubtful whether a big number of shortcuts on a search engine is a good idea.

What’s more, also displays at least three third-party ads on its main page. It may start with random ads, but the longer it remains on your system, the more it knows about you, and it is very likely that soon these ads will be related to your most recent search keywords. In a sense, it might seem that helps you to find something you have been looking for, but this is where you stop and consider this: browser hijacker DO NOT review the ad content. To put it simply, the program does not care what kind of links are embedded in the ads that you see.

Therefore, if the hijacker gets exploited by cyber criminals, some of the ads might be a gateway to dangerous websites that are involved in malware distribution networks. And there is nothing could do about it because the program is not responsible for the third-party content security. You are left to deal with it on your own, and of course, you wish you could have avoided all of that in the first place.

You can actually prevent the worst from happening by removing today. The program cannot be deleted via Control Panel, but you can restore your browser settings, and the hijacker should disappear. Needless to say, after manual removal, you should also scan your PC with the SpyHunter free scanner because you need to take the matter of your computer’s security into your own hands. Remember all those additional freeware apps that might have entered your PC together with this browser hijacker.

Finally, once your computer is safe and clean again, you have to ensure that no other unwanted and dangerous programs enter it again. And it is not just about a security tool you have. It is also about the websites you visit when you browse the web. So be careful because malicious infections are hiding behind every nook and corner.
