Topsafetabsearch.com

Topsafetabsearch.com may appear in your browsers as your new home page, new tab page, and default search engine after a browser hijacker sneaks onto your machine. This infection can change these settings in your major browsers, including Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, and Internet Explorer. We have found that this browser hijacker is an identical clone of a previous attempt called Topsecuritytabsearch.com, which seems to belong to a family that includes numerous infections, such as Search.myspeedtestxp.com, Search.mygamesxp.com, and Search.MyTelevisionXp.com. Finding any of these annoying unreliable search pages in your browsers can make your computer vulnerable to malicious threats. This hijacker, for example, can expose you to unsafe third-party content through the third-party sites it promotes as well as the search results it displays. Having this malware on your computer could mean that your system is infected with other threats as well. Therefore, there is no doubt that you should remove Topsafetabsearch.com from your PC if you wish to recover your system security.

Our research shows that this browser hijacker can be installed when you click on unsafe third-party pop-up advertisements. These could pretend to be urgent software updates and other misleading ads. There are two main sources for you to be introduced to such advertisements. First, it is possible that your computer was previously infected with ad-supported programs (e.g., Qubiv and EoRezo) or browser hijackers which both can generate corrupt ads and links to drop an infection or a whole bundle of them on board. Second, you may land on a suspicious file-sharing website (torrent and shareware) where you click on such third-party content that results in your letting a freeware bundle onto your system that contains this hijacker among other malware installers. Infecting your system with such a lot can seriously add to the vulnerability of your computer. Therefore, it is important that you stay away from questionable websites and clicking on third-party content, if possible. If you want to install free software, do it exclusively from official sources or reputable vendors' pages. Another thing about installing bundles is that you may be able to opt out of letting the whole content on board if you are cautious and deselect certain unwanted components in time. If you fail to do so, deleting Topsafetabsearch.com will not be enough to secure your system.

This browser hijacker introduces a fake toolbar in your browsers at the top of its main page. This toolbar contains a search box and a number of quick links to security related sites and services, such as Secure Notes, Secure Documents, and Security Tools. It is important to mention that this infection might be able to inject third-party ads into these promoted pages and thus make them unreliable to use. There are also several thumbnail links below the main search box that lead to popular websites, including Facebook, Gmail, and Instagram. The main issue with this search page is unfortunately its main "attraction," i.e., the search engine. If you enter a query, it is forwarded to extsearch.maxwebsearch.com and then redirected to Yahoo. This means that this hijacker is capable of manipulating your search results by including third-party ads and links, which will appear as normal Yahoo search results; and this could be rather misleading. Many users fall for this trick and believe that these results are fully reliable until they end up on malicious websites or being infected with more malware threats by clicking on unreliable contents. It is really important that you protect your computer from similar infections if you want to feel secure in your online world. This is why we suggest that you delete Topsafetabsearch.com as soon as possible.

The most effective way to eliminate this threat seems to be the resetting of your infected browsers. Keep in mind that with this method you may loose your preferences and settings as all your browsers will return to default. Please follow our instructions below if you are not familiar with these steps. It is really not that hard to remove Topsafetabsearch.com manually even if you are an inexperienced user. If this threat managed to crawl onto your system, there is a good chance that there are other malware infections on board and that there will be some more in the future. If you are looking for proper and permanent protection, we suggest that you install a trustworthy anti-malware program, such as SpyHunter, or any security tool of your choice that you find decent enough and reliable. A good web search can help you decide. In fact, you should always run a web search whenever you are about to download any application. This could save you some unnecessary headaches.
