InfoSearchBox.com

InfoSearchBox.com is not a real search tool, despite its interface. Although it shows a Search dialog box, all of your queries will route you to an empty page. It is unknown whether this search provider was functional in the past, but we know that it has stayed inoperative for some time now. It is possible that this search tool was never meant to assist users with web searches. The easy-access links promoting YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Amazon, Ebay, Wikipedia, and Gmail could be the only purpose behind this search tool. The chances are that the creator of this suspicious tool is earning money for every click that you make. It is also possible that it could be used for much more malicious reasons. The reality is that this search tool is exceptionally mysterious and unpredictable, and it is possible that it could be used in a malicious way. In this report, we give the argument why removing InfoSearchBox.com is the best idea.

You have not downloaded InfoSearchBox.com as a standalone program, have you? First of all, this “search provider” does not have an official download page. Second, it is not useful, and so it is hard to believe that users find it desirable. It is far more likely that users will be tricked into downloading this search tool bundled with third-party malware. Moreover, it could be concealed by the installers carrying it. If you are completely sure that InfoSearchBox.com has corrupted your browsers without your permission, you need no other reason to classify it as a dangerous threat that requires urgent removal. Uninvited software is usually malicious, and you should not ignore it. If you are unsure about the software active on your PC, you can always install a reliable malware scanner to inspect your operating system. If you do not know a good scanner, click the Download button to install a free scanner that is up-to-date to detect the most recent threats. Hopefully, more malicious threats are not present on your PC.

As mentioned already, InfoSearchBox.com does not work as a search tool, but that does not mean that it does not work. Once it takes over your homepage, this browser hijacker promotes links to popular websites, which might help generate a profit. Furthermore, it is possible that intrusive tracking cookies will be installed along with this hijacker to record information, which might include personal data as well. As you might have noticed yourself, InfoSearchBox.com is not supported by legal information. Privacy policies, terms of use, EULA statements, and other kinds of documents are usually used to support software. These documents can reveal information about the use of data-tracking tools, the communication with third parties, and the employment of the collected data. Because InfoSearchBox.com does not disclose this information, it is impossible to identify it as harmless or trustworthy. Since there is a risk of malicious tracking cookies being installed, we recommend resetting your browsers. This action will delete InfoSearchBox.com and get rid of the cookies at the same time.

Have you noticed the “Vega Search 123” name on the Tab representing InfoSearchBox.com? This is very strange. We do not have information about a search tool called by that name, but it is possible that the hijacker was created from a different tool. Another name that we link to the hijacker is “vebasearch.com.” This, according to our research, is an advertising-supported program, and it is hosted on the same domain as InfoSearchBox.com itself, which suggests that maybe both of these threats were created by the same company, and maybe they behave in a similar manner. Vebasearch.com was found to replace regular ads with potentially malicious advertisements, and, in most cases, it was spread bundled with other suspicious programs. Obviously, if you discover suspicious ads after being introduced to this hijacker, ignore them. Unfortunately, this infection is rapidly spreading across the US, and it is possible that it will corrupt your browsers.

We recommend resetting your browsers to delete InfoSearchBox.com and clean them completely from any malicious components. Once you reset your browsers, you might need to restore homepage and default search provider settings, but that is not hard to do. If you do not know how to do that, we are ready to help you. Just let us know via the comments box below. Another option is using automated malware removal software, and this is the option we support, particularly because it can guarantee the elimination of ALL infections, as well as keep your PC protected in the future.
