Browseextended

Browseextended is a useless application that resembles those ad-supported programs belonging to the SuperWeb family. As a matter of fact, we have labeled it as an adware program because it has no real function other than displaying potentially harmful third-party advertisements, such as pop-ups, while you are browsing the web. These commercials are not just annoying, but you may also be exposed to malicious websites when clicking on them. The presence of this adware can also mean that you have several more malware threats on board. Therefore, you should not hesitate to step up and remove Browseextended and all other malware infections you may find on your computer. Keeping these threats on your system could make your virtual security more and more vulnerable to the vicious attacks of cyber criminals. Please continue reading our article to understand how this application may infect your computer and what you can do against it.

This worthless piece of adware actually has a promotional page at browseextending.com where nothing really comes to light as to what this program actually does. “Surf the web as usual, find enhanced content with Browseextended” is all you can read on this page; whatever that means. This is a rather vague promotional line, of course. If you click on the “Start now” button, you get redirected to an instruction page; however, no download actually starts. This is rather suspicious. Not that too many users would find this page anyway; at least, we do not think so.

Instead, this adware seems to use the good old method of software bundling to spread all over the web. This is the preferred way for schemers to deliver a whole package of malware infections onto unsuspecting computer users’ computers because such malicious bundles can be promoted through all kinds of questionable file-sharing websites. As you may know, there are hundreds of thousands of computer users every day who want to download free software, music, or movies. What could be more effective than spreading such packages through third-party ads on torrent, shareware, and pornographic websites? But, if you download such a bundle and install all components without opting out in time, you may infect your computer with adware programs, browser hijackers, and potentially unwanted programs as well. In this case, removing Browseextended will not restore the security of your PC. You will also have to identify all possibly harmful applications and infections so that you have an idea of the malware situation on your computer.

This adware my start displaying third-party advertisements in your browser windows that are labeled "Ads by BROWSEEXTENSION" or "Provided by BROWSEEXTENSION." These ads can be quite distractive and annoying. However, the main problem is always their reliability. Since it is possible that cyber criminals pose as third parties, it is just as possible that if you click on their advertisements, you get redirected to unreliable or downright malicious websites. This adware may also collect information about you and your browsing habits, which can be used to target you with customized advertisements. You would most likely click on a commercial that displays a product you have been looking for and now it is offered for a very cheap price, right? Well, we hope you will not because this may well be a trap set by criminals. Once you arrive on a fake online shop page, your banking details may get stolen and your account lightened by some money. But you may also be tricked into downloading some useless software updates that contain malware infections really. Believe us when we say that even a short “trip” to a malicious website could end badly for you and your computer. Therefore, we recommend that you remove Browseextended as soon as possible.

The best thing about this program is that it is very easy to get rid of it. In fact, it has an uninstaller, which you can access via Control Panel. We have found that this uninstaller does not even leave a mess behind. If you have never uninstalled a program, please use our instructions below as a reference.
