LoadLeader

LoadLeader is an application that works as a download client. The application is primarily aimed at Ukrainian users because this software is developed in Ukraine by LLC Audit Firm ACTIVE – AUDIT. Of course, it is available in English and Russian too. Therefore, we can assume that it is targeted at a wide range of users. If you have downloaded LoadLeader from its official website LoadLeader or it has managed to enter the system yourself, you will see a suspicious program every time you turn on your computer. It might seem to be useful at first sight because it enables users to find all kinds of files and download them from the web. Of course, there is a risk that people will initiate the download process of different infections instead of getting a useful file. This is not the only reason why LoadLeader is put into the category of potentially unwanted applications.

It seems that this downloader does not work as it has to. In addition, it is very suspicious that the main file of LoadLeader, which is loadleader.exe, is recognizable as adware, potentially unwanted program (PUP), downloader, unwanted program, and even threat by different security tools. In our opinion, this confirms the fact that LoadLeader is not the most trustworthy application. Believe us, there are hundreds of other download clients that pretend to be useful; however, we are sure that you have installed LoadLeader on your system if you see such files as MonoTorrent.Dht.dll, AxInterop.AXVLC.dll, ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib.dll, and loadleader.exe. You will find all these files if you follow this path C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\LoadLeader\. Are they are present? If so, there is no doubt that LoadLeader is installed on the system.

Once LoadLeader enters the system, it creates the following registry keys:

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Tracing\loadleader_RASMANCS

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Tracing\loadleader_RASAPI32

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Tracing\loadleader_RASMANCS

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run LoadLeade

HKLM\Software\LoadLeader

Unfortunately, the presence of HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run LoadLeade means that LoadLeader will start the moment your Windows loads up. In other words, it will start performing its activities the moment it is installed. As it is capable of starting without a user’s permission, you have to remove LoadLeader even though you are not going to use it. It is important to do that in order to prevent this program from doing various activities behind a user’s back.

This Ukrainian application does not act as it should in most cases; however, if it gets updates in the future and starts working, we still do not recommend keeping it for one simple reason – you might download a bunch of untrustworthy programs instead of useful files. LoadLeader is even blocked by Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome browsers if a user tries to download it, which means that it is not decent. LoadLeader is definitely not the only harmful torrent downloader. It has been observed that another version of LoadLeader exists. It is called MaxDownload. It also says that it can download torrents for you easily; however, this is not true at all. Besides, this version is often recognized as Trojan by security applications. Therefore, you should not keep it either.

LoadLeader itself can be downloaded from loadleader.net, which is its official website; however, this threat usually comes bundled with malicious software. People tend to download malicious software bundles from such Russian file-sharing websites as psp-psv.ru and game-over1.net. LoadLeader comes together with games, applications, illegal software, music, and films in such bundles. It is known that LoadLeader also uses the InstallMonster downloader which will probably be bundled with Yandex. As you can see, it is not easy to protect the system from undesirable software; however, there is still one thing you can do, i.e. install a security tool on your computer. You should also stop visiting various torrent and file-sharing websites because you can download a bunch of unreliable programs instead of a movie, software, or another useful file.

As there are so many other reliable download clients available, we do not think that it is worth keeping LoadLeader installed on the system. You can remove this application from the system via Control Panel. Below provided instructions will help you with that; however, we do not think that they will help you to remove other malicious programs that have managed to enter your system together with LoadLeader. In order to eliminate them all, scan your system with an automatic malware remover, such as SpyHunter. It will make your system perfectly clean within seconds.
