VirusCleaner

VirusCleaner, also known as Virus Cleaner, is a rogue anti-spyware program that is made to look professional and functional to trick you into thinking that it is a real anti-spyware program in order to convince you to "purchase" it. VirusCleaner usually comes up after been installed through a video codec that comes with Trojan, malware and viruses. You can also install VirusCleaner manually on the rogue website antivirus-scanner.com. After installation VirusCleaner will run a scan on your computer and give false spyware reports claiming that your computer is infected with spyware. This deceptive tactic is an attempt to scare you into clicking on the link or button to purchase the full version of VirusCleaner. If you decide not to purchase the program, then you will constantly receive pop-ups stating that the program has found infections and that you should register it in order to fix them. This type of behavior can cause a computer to operate slower than normal.
VirusCleaner will also occasionally display fake pop-up alerts on an infected computer. These alerts pretend to be a detection of an attack on your computer and the alerts will prompt you to activate, or purchase, the software in order to stop the attack. It is advised to run a scan with a reliable anti-spyware program to check for the presence of VirusCleaner on your computer.
