FF Tasker is a generic adware application that employs the pay-per-click system to generate financial income for its creators. The adware program itself is not malicious, but it could be exploited by malevolent third-parties in order to collect information on your web browsing habits. If you care about your system’s safety, you will remove FF Tasker at once. It is not hard to delete this application manually, but we would strongly suggest acquiring a reliable computer security tool that would help you run a full system scan. For all it’s worth, there might be multiple other unwanted applications on-board.
You can probably tell from the program’s name that FF Tasker affects only the Mozilla Firefox web browser. The application gets installed as a browser add-on. When it has enough information on your web browsing patterns, the program starts displaying commercial advertisements on associated websites. The specifics of this adware program are that FF Tasker plays audio advertisements that might throw you off balance if you have your sound turned on. What’s more, the application connects to the toptab.net server to load its advertisements. Although the program cannot really MAKE you click any of the commercial ads, you should not take your chances.
If you notice that there is an increasing flood of commercial audio ads on your browser, you seriously need to do something about it. However, if you decide to remove FF Tasker from your computer, you have to remember that this might not be the only adware app currently running on your system. FF Tasker does not have any official homepage that would be its main distribution source, so just like most of the adware applications; FF Tasker clearly arrives in software packages. Those software packages contain several adware and freeware applications by default, so if you are not careful enough during the installation, you will end up with multiple unwanted applications on your system.
FF Tasker does not have an entry in the list of installed programs, so the general uninstall procedure via Control Panel does not work on this application. Nevertheless, you can delete the application’s folder from the Program Files directory without any difficulties. You will also need to remove the plug-in from your browser manually. If you think that there might be more unwanted extensions on your browser, you can simply reset your browser’s settings to default.
Finally, to safeguard your computer from similar intruders in the future you should do the following. First, stay away from unfamiliar websites and do not click random pop-ups that appear on your screen when you browse the Internet. And second, get yourself a legitimate antispyware program that will provide you real-time protection from any potential threats.
