KeepersExt

KeepersExt is not an application you should keep, because it is an adware application that displays unreliable third-party advertisements that are deceptive in nature. Therefore, we recommend that you remove it as soon as possible. The infection is not dangerous on its own, but the content displayed on it certainly could be. As mentioned, the app displays third-party ads, which is very alarming because the developers of this app do not check whether the content is legitimate. Furthermore, the application can be used to collect information about your browsing habits by utilizing browser cookies. And, since advertisers mostly have a total disregard for personal privacy, we advise you not to tolerate such behavior and remove this infection.

KeepersExt is based on the JustPlugIt adware platform, which is often used by untrustworthy advertisers, schemers, and cyber criminals to advance various causes. Most often though, such causes involve money, but we will expand on that a bit later on. The program is similar to previous infections based on this engine, including TremendousCoup, BrowserEnhance, Tremendous Sale, and RealDeal. Note that these programs are just as dangerous as KeepersExt, so you should remove them as well.

In any case, KeepersExt is distributed in several different ways. The most common one is bundling it with InstallRex installers and putting it up for download on websites that distribute pirated content. Our research has revealed that your computer can get infected with KeepersExt if you click fake download buttons. On top of that, the infection can be bundled with legitimate software and distributed on freeware sharing websites, such as Soft32.com. But, nonetheless, you have the ability to remove this infection from the installation process by unchecking the appropriate checkbox.

We advise you to remove KeepersExt, because it is used make money for its developers. The company advertises the program to attract clients. Sadly, these clients tend to be quite shifty, and once the deal is sealed, they begin to promote infected websites that contain malware, fraudulent shopping websites, and so on. Because advertisers have full control over KeepersExt, they can use it to collect information, such as browsing and search data, which can be used to advance their cause.

All in all, this application is bad news. It has been developed by a company that allows advertisers who use it to fully control the ads. So oftentimes schemers use this opportunity to promote fake ads that contain malware downloads. In addition to that, advertisers can keep tabs on your browsing and search history, which cannot be tolerated. Therefore we recommend that you use our manual removal guide to remove this infection.
