Ace Race

There is no need to panic if you are spammed with multiple commercial pop-ups. If random ads interrupt your online shopping experience, it is very likely that you have an adware program installed on your computer. Ace Race is one of those adware apps that are very far from being malicious PC infections, and yet security experts encourage users to remove Ace Race from their systems without further ado. The problem is that adware programs are often exploited in suspicious marketing schemes, and if you can avoid a potential security issue, it is precisely what you must do.

More often than not, users do not realize they have installed Ace Race on their computers. This program probably arrived bundled with freeware. Freeware programs include all applications that are distributed for free at file sharing websites. Downloading a program from its official website may decrease the possibility of a software package installation, but if you resort to downloading programs from third-party sources, you can almost be sure that Ace Race or any other similar application will slither into your system as well. Take note that Ace Race is not a computer infection because it needs your permission to be installed.

To tell you the truth, all programs from the SuperWeb family employ the same tactics to spread around. They have fake homepages out there that do not provide users with any kind of useful information. For example, it is impossible to download Ace Race at acerace.net. What is more, Ace Race is yet another clone of NetGranule, Rad Rater, Boxed Books, and many other apps. All programs from this group are practically identical, and they serve one purpose: to generate financial revenue.

Ace Race does not try to rip you off like a genuine rogue antispyware app would do. This program simply adds an extension to your default browser and collects data on which websites you visit and what you search for online. This is how Ace Race manages to display commercial advertisements afterwards. All Ace Race ads are customized according to your web browsing history. Thus, sometimes it seems that the ads may offer some useful information on where to purchase desirable goods at a lower price.

However, you should know that Ace Race does not check whether the links in its ads are safe or not. In case cyber criminals embed links to corrupted websites, it wouldn’t be surprising if you ended up infected with malware. Hence, you have to prevent this from happening by removing Ace Race at once. Do not forget to scan your PC with a licensed antispyware tool after manual removal. Since adware apps come in packs, you need to detect and terminate other unwanted applications as well.
