Donkick

Donkick is an adware application made by Super Web, LLC. Like all similar software developed by this company, Donkick only works on Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox web browsers. Updated versions of Google Chrome seem to successfully block it. Once installed, Donkick starts showing commercial adverts. They can appear in many forms, including pop-ups, banners, and coupons. If you find ads as annoying as we do, you will remove Donkinck from your computer immediately.

Donkick, like most adware found on the Internet, is mostly distributed via freeware bundles. They work by taking a legitimate program and including options to install additional software all the way through the set up process. Keeping in mind that people usually do not pay attention when installing something, it is no wonder that they find one or even more unwanted pieces of software on their computer after finally clicking that Finish button. While this might look harmless, it is not always the case, as freeware bundles are sometimes known to include malware. After installing a free program, one can never be too careful. If you want to ensure the safety of your system, download an industry-standard spyware detection and removal tool to look over your files. It will be able to delete anything harmful, too.

Donkick works by gaining access to your browsing information. It tracks which websites you visit regularly, remembers the links you tend to click on the most, and what you look for on shopping websites and the Internet in general. This adware then takes the collected information and starts showing you ads, offering great deals on things you looked to buy earlier and so on. Basically, Donkick uses the information it collected to tempt you into clicking one of its advertisements, linking to a third-party website. Once you do, Super Web will receive some money for increasing the traffic to that website. We do not think that this is a fair business model, because you do all the work without getting anything in return. If this state of affairs bothers you as much as it bothers us, remove Donkick from your computer at once.

Having decided to get rid of Donkick, you only have to settle on the best way to do it. If you do not like playing around with your system but would not mind having your computer thoroughly scanned for threats, automatic removal with a professional antispyware program is your best option. However, if you like getting your hands dirty and want to brave the risk of some additional threat to you system, manual removal is your best bet. While we caution against manual removal, the instructions are provided below.
