PepperZip

PepperZip is a program that creates, unpack, and compress various archive files. The program is advertised alongside PepperPdF and PepperPlayer at pepperware.net. The program may seem to be appealing; however, when the user tries to open an archive, the program requires that he/she purchases the unlimited version, which is available for $14. The PepperZip program falls into the category of potentially unwanted programs (PUP) because it has been found that it downloads a Trojan horse, which can be named score.exe or rcore.exe. It is advisable to remove PepperZip as well as the Trojan horse installed in order to prevent privacy-related issues.

Although PepperZip is advertised at pepperware.com, it does not mean that it is the only source of the program. PepperZip can be bundled with various freeware programs, including IdleCrawler, VuUPC, LookSafe, and many others. In order to prevent unreliable programs, it is worth reviewing the license agreement or privacy statement provided by the installation wizard. You should decline programs that you do not know because they may turn out to be malicious. For example, after installing an unknown program, you may be flooded with various pop-up advertisements, some of which may be associated with phishing websites.

Similarly to free programs, PepperZip records certain non-personally identifiable information, including your IP address, browsing history, browser type, and operating system. This type of information is usually collected for statistical purposes. Moreover, such anonymous details are very often collected by advertising-supported programs.

It is worth noting that Pepperware’s programs are compatible with mobile devices, and, after installing some product of this software developer, you enable Pepperware to access your personal information, such as your call history, text messages, photos, and contacts. If you do not want third parties to read your personal information, you should simply remove the unwanted program your device.

As regard the PepperZip program for Windows computers, it can be removed manually using the following instructions, but we recommend that you use a powerful anti-spyware program so that you can have various malicious programs removed. Your computer can be infected at any time, and the consequences may be damaging, so we recommend that you implement SpyHunter, which easily removes PepperZip and other unreliable programs.
