Fissa.com

Do not panic if suddenly your homepage changes to Fissa.com. It simply means that you have been infected with a browser hijacker. Browser hijackers do not pose critical danger to your computer system, but it may be the start of intrusive software behavior, which will eventually result in serious computer infection. Hence, it is important that you remove Fissa.com from the computer immediately. What is more, this browser hijacker is probably not the only unwanted application currently installed on the PC, so scan your system in search for other potential threats.

You most probably got infected with Fissa.com when you downloaded some freeware app from third-party file hosting website. Browser hijackers often travel with adware programs, and some of the distribution methods involve fake update links that users click on adware-related websites. Whichever way it might be, if you must download a new program, download it from official websites. The same applies to program and extension updates – if your application needs an update, get it from the official vendor webpage. If you fail to follow safe internet browsing guidelines, it is very likely that you could get infected with such hijackers as Fissa.com and potentially dangerous applications.

The good thing about browser hijackers is that they do not try to stay hidden. Once you get infected with Fissa.com you notice that immediately because fissa.com is set as your default homepage and search engine. Some users may even think that it is a genuine search engine, especially as it is powered by Google. However, in such a case, it is curious as to why you should use Fissa.com when you can open and use Google directly. Not to mention that if you search via Fissa.com, you could be redirected through adware and online marketing servers that track web traffic and even your browsing history.

What is more, third parties make use of Fissa.com to promote their content. As you can see, there is a huge banner ad below the search box on the main page. Clicking these ads is not advised because Fissa.com is highly vulnerable to a third-party exploitation, and the ads could be embedded with corrupted links to dangerous websites. On top of that, even the search results provided by Fissa.com cannot be trusted. You can never know what website you could land on, so you should not tolerate this infection.

It may not be possible to uninstall Fissa.com via Control Panel, but you can delete it from your browser by restoring browser settings to default. When that is done, scan the PC with SpyHunter free scanner. A full system scan will detect all the files related to this browser hijacker, and you will be able to remove them automatically.
