FLV Player Addon

If your Internet browsers contain a button that opens the FLV Player, it means that you have accidentally installed the FLV Player Addon. The browser extension is compatible with Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox. The FLV Player Addon is created by Nero, which should not be confused with a legitimate company called Nero. The computer program can be bundled with a great variety of computer programs, including desktop programs and other browser plug-ins. It is highly advisable to pay close attention to the information provided by the installation wizard so that you can prevent undesirable changes and use the computer as usual.

The FLV Player Addon uses the Crossrider engine, which is used by many free browser add-ons, some of which are categorized as adware programs. The latest versions of the browser extension install an adware helper, which creates it registry entries and folders named globalUpdate. The adware helper starts running when you log on to your computer and searches for updates for the extension. Very often programs such as the adware helper globalUpdate have to be removed separately, which is also the case with the FLV Player Addon.

The same adware helper is used App Hat, which is a program that helps you deliver applications to your Android device.

If you have no intention of using the browser extension, remove it from the browsers as soon as you can. It may record your online behavior, not to mention the risk that is posed to you by the adware helper, which can download unreliable files. If you do not want to risk your login details and other personal information that may be used by remote attackers, you should remove the FLV Player Addon and the adware program as soon as you can.

It is possible to uninstall the browser plug-in; however, after uninstalling the FLV Player Addon, which is categorized as a potentially unwanted program (PUP), the adware helper remains on the computer. Hence, it is highly advisable to use a spyware removal tool. We recommend that you implement SpyHunter because it can easily eliminate the unwanted browser add-on, the adware helper, and many other unreliable programs and files, including browser hijackers, browser cookies collecting information for advertising purposes, rogue anti-virus programs, and many other malicious programs.
