Guffins Toolbar

Guffins Toolbar is a suspicious browser plugin which some computer users find undesirable and even intrusive. In fact, the toolbar may even be recognized as a browser hijacker; however, our malware researchers do not think it is necessary to go that far. Of course, if you have discovered the plugin installed on your web browsers without your authorization, you should treat them as undesirable and consider their removal. Nonetheless, in reality this is just a useless and unreliable plugin which in most cases cannot present you with any benefits. Do you want to remove Guffins Toolbar? Then continue reading to find out how.

When talking about Guffins Toolbar it is necessary to identify the version of the tool you are running on your Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome browsers. Two of the most common versions are the Community Toolbar by Conduit and the Ask Toolbar by Mindspark Interactive Network. These applications are represented at guffins.ourtoolbar.com and download.guffins.com/index.jhtml respectively. Even though neither of these applications is considered to be malicious, you need to be cautious about the search tools which are bundled together with the extension itself.

If you have chosen to install Guffins Toolbar by Conduit, you need to beware of the Trovi search. We do not recommend checking the boxes indicating their installation; otherwise, the home page of your browsers will be changed to search.conduit.com and the Guffins Customized Web Search will be set as the default search provider. In case you are dealing with the Mindspark’s toolbar, you need to un-check boxes related to the optional modifications. If you do not uncheck these boxes, you will find the Ask Web Search installed onto your browsers. Furthermore, home.tb.ask.com will replace the regular home page. These modifications are linked to such infamous plugins as IQmango Toolbar, Softtunes Toolbar and FreeBillPayAlert Toolbar as well.

Ask Web Search and the Conduit search tools are known to represent advertisement supported search results. Furthermore, they can display online advertisements representing the services of various suspicious sources, including eurohealthnews.com. What is most disconcerting is that both versions of the toolbar are affiliated to undisclosed third parties. Therefore, we suggest you delete Guffins Toolbar without further hesitation.
