search.foxtab.com

These days users need to be wary of applications that are not exactly malicious, but then again they are not extremely useful as well. Take search.foxtab.com for example. This is a website that appears on your Mozilla Firefox browser when you install a new app called Fox tab. This application promotes itself as a browser extension that allows you to access your favorite websites immediately. However, it is also associated with potentially unwanted programs that may eventually allow a malicious infection enter your computer. Consequently, it is highly recommended to remove search.foxtab.com from your PC right now.

It should be pointed out that search.foxtab.com is not related to malware itself. In fact, you can easily download the application from newtab.foxtab.com. It will inform you that with the new application installed on your Mozilla Firefox browser, you will be able to “speedial” for your favorite sites – basically, it offers a one-click access to your search results. Search.foxtab.com also claims to be user-friendly, which only adds up to the overall app promotion as “an add-on that improves your overall search and browsing experience”.

There may also be another application from the same company accessed at foxtab.com. However, this application is absolutely legitimate and it does not even hijack your browser. In fact, we can make a presumption that search.foxtab.com gets set as your default search engine mostly when Fox tab is downloaded with freeware. That is plausible, because this website is often included in the installation setup of FunMoods toolbar which is definitely considered a potentially unwanted program.

As such, search.foxtab.com becomes very similar to sr.searchfunmoods.com. Actually, the layouts of the sites themselves are identical, and both of them display a lot of third party advertisements that have nothing to do with either of the application. Therefore, it is possible to presuppose that search.foxtab.com could be used by third parties to promote their own content, and it may have nothing in common with Fox tab.

So it is easy to see why search.foxtab.com could expose you to potential threats – third party content is rarely reviewed by such applications. It is definitely not the main aim of this application, but in the long run (especially if you are not careful enough), you could get infected with malware.

To prevent that, it is important that you remove search.foxtab.com from your computer, as well as all the other potentially unwanted applications, including Funmoods Toolbar. Scan your PC with SpyHunter free scanner to determine which programs must be deleted immediately, and then acquire a powerful antimalware tool to terminate them all automatically.
