BitGuard.exe

BitGuard.exe is an executive file that belongs to a software component BitGuard which is an adware program from Adware Helpers family. It is developed by PerformerSoft LLC and it can be used by various third party applications to tamper with your browser settings. Officially, BitGuard.exe is said to be able to block malware infections, unsolicited browser settings modifications and so on. However, the truth is that BitGuard.exe presents you with a number of annoying security issues that are necessary to be solved as soon as possible. Although it is possible to remove programs responsible for BitGuard.exe via Windows Control Panel, it would be highly recommended to delete BitGuard.exe automatically with a reliable antimalware tool.

BitGuard.exe is related to Browser Manager software component, and when it gets installed on the target computer, it registers its own bitguard.dll file under AppIniti_DLLs within Windows Register. As a result, that allows the application to auto-start each time you turn on your computer. Generally, when the computer is infected with BitGuard.exe, any program that is based on Windows will load the application, and there will usually be two BitGuard.exe processes running in your Task Manager list.

Considering the fact that BitGuard.exe is said to block your attempts to change your web browser settings (including home page, extensions and default search engine), it is possible to presuppose that might be bundled with potentially unwanted programs and even browser hijackers (it is often bundled with Softango installers), lending these malicious programs its ability to maintain current (or recently modified) browser modifications, and not giving user a chance to restore his/her own settings. Whenever you would try to change your browser settings, BitGuard.exe would display the following pop-up message:

An attempt to change your default browser search settings has been blocked.

Also, BitGuard.exe and all the programs related to it could be the source of constant browser crashes, having been installed onto it bypassing browser opt-in dialog. Therefore, the point is that BitGuard.exe should not be on your computer, as it could be possibly related to various malware infections. In fact, up to ten antivirus programs detects BitGuard.exe as malicious file and recommends removing it from computers at once. If you want to avoid spyware infections, you should remove Browser Manager software from your system and then scan the PC with SpyHunter free scanner. It will detect any remaining dangerous files, and you will be able to remove BitGuard.exe automatically through and through.
