FaceSmooch virus

FaceSmooch Virus refers to a browser add-on which alters the chat on Facebook so that you can use various smileys, emoticons and other animated elements which are supposed to spice you online chats.  The application itself is not a virus but the circumstances under which users acquire this application make them think that their computers get infected. Moreover, on Internet Explorer, FaceSmooch is presented as Share Your Mood, whereas on Mozilla Firefox no add-on has been installed.

FaceSmooch Virus removal

Windows Vista and Windows 7

1. Open the Start menu and click Control Panel.
2. Select Uninstall a program.
3. Double-click FaceSmooch.

Windows XP

1. Click Start - > Control Panel.
2. Select Add or Remove Programs.
3. Select the program you want to remove and click Remove.

Windows 8

1. Press and hold down the Windows key and press R.
2. Type control panel and click OK.
3. Click Uninstall a program.
4. Double-click the program you want to remove.

Remove FaceSmooch from the browsers

Internet Explorer

1. Press Alt+T.
2. Click Internet Options.
3. Under the General tab, change the home page.
4. In the Search section below, click Settings.
5. In the Search Providers sections, set a new search engine and remove the unwanted one.
6. Click Toolbars and Extensions and remove the unwanted add-on.

Mozilla Firefox

1. Press and hold down the Alt key, do not release the key and press and hold the Shift key and then press A to open Add-ons Manager.
2. Click Extensions and remove FaceSmooch.
3. To change the home page, press Alt+T.
4. Click Internet Options.
5. Under the General tab, change the home page.
6. To change the home page, open the drop-down menu next to the search box and select, for example, Google.

Google Chrome

1. Press Alt+F.
2. Point to Tools and click Extensions.
3. Remove FaceSmooch.
4. Click Settings.
5. In the On startup section, select one of the options and click Set pages.
6. In the Search section, click Manage search engines.
7. Remove search.conduit.com and select a new search provider.
