Malta Police Association Virus

Do not panic if your computer is blocked with a notification from Malta Police Association Virus. This screen-sized message has nothing to do with Pulizija ta' Malta (Malta Police). You are infected with ransomware program that intends to steal your money by making you think that you have breached several laws and you need to pay the fine as soon as possible. Malta Police Association Virus is adorned with symbols of Maltese law enforcement authorities to make an impression that it deliver a legitimate notification. Although this infection locks down your computer and prevents you from accessing your desktop, you should not panic.

Malta Police Association Virus is not the only infection from the same group that pretends to be sent from law enforcement office. Just like this program makes use of Pulizija ta' Malta, another similar infection - Ministerstvo vnútra virus makes an impression that is has been sent by Policajný zbor Slovenskej Republiky (Slovakian police). There are multiple infections from the same Ukash Virus group, including EC3 Europol Virus, ICSPA Virus and many other localized variants, targeting users in multiple countries. The most important thing is not to panic and to ignore the message in the notification on your screen:

ATTENTION! Your PC is blocked due to at least one of the reasons specified below.

You have been viewing or distributing prohibited Pornographic content (Child Porn/Zoophilia and etc). Thus violating article 202 of the Criminal Code of Republic of Malta.

Fines may only be paid with 72 hours after the infringement. As soon as 72 hours elapse, the possiblity to pay the fine expires, and a criminal case is initiated against you automatically within the next 72 hours!

The amount of fine is €100. You can pay a fine PaySafeCard or Ukash.

None of the accusations are real, and you should not pay the fine, because it will not be transferred to Pulizija ta' Malta - you will be giving your money away to cyber criminals. In order to avoid being robbed you need to bypass Malta Police Association Virus's defenses and remove it from your PC. Follow the instructions below to achieve that.
