Disk Repair

Although there are many different threats and programs pretending to be something they are obviously not on the web, there are still many things you as the consumer can do to protect your PC. This is especially important in the case of rogue system defragmenter Disk Repair. Hailing from the same destructive and incredulous family as well known rogue defragmenters HDD Rescue and HDD Tool, users should not be fooled by Disk Repair’s seemingly genuine looking interfaces and dramatic online marketing campaigns.

If you are still on the fence about whether you need to delete Disk Repair or not, remember that it is unable to live up to any of its over embellished promises, and only has the goal of stealing your money before it. Disk Repair will not offer your PC any benefits, and will make it impossible for you to gain any function out of your system by systematically breaking down all inherent system security features, crippling your system and making it essentially worthless.

As with any rogue application, Disk Repair will also make use of fake security notifications in an effort to extort money out of users. Do not believe these fake warnings, as they were designed explicitly to create panic among Disk Repair’s victims and to engender a state of confusion. An example of a Disk Repair fake alert reads as follows:

“Critical Error!
Damaged hard drive clusters detected. Private data is at risk.”

Symptoms of a Disk Repair infection have been reported as users being unable to access their Desktop items, and having their Internet connections blocked. A significant symptom of this rogue is its ability to block users from being able to run certain programs. This is done in an effort not to allow them to run a security program which will erase Disk Repair from the system. Disk Repair will allow certain programs to execute, so as to simulate a reparable hard drive. Should the user have a difficult time running a security tool which will effectively erase Disk Repair from the system, the user should go to the Disk Repair help and support section on the application, and enter the following serial key:

"0973467457475070215340537432225"

By entering this key, Disk Repair will not be removed from the system, but the incessant popup messages will stop and connection to the Internet should be restored. This will allow you to download a security application which will be able to eradicate Disk Repair off the system. To ensure that you are able to connect to the Internet, check and disable the proxy server in the browser.

In order to completely get rid of Disk Repair, the user will still need to install a powerful security tool. It is important to completely eliminate Disk Repair from the system as its presence will still allow for other serious and harmful Trojans to gain access to the PC, and the system will continually be susceptible to different types of threats and infections.
