Search Toolbar

Search Toolbar is a generic term for a browser hijacker related to a list of adware and malware. This unwanted application can get into your system bundled together with freeware that you downloaded at third party websites. Once Search Toolbar gets installed, it drops a list of its files into the system, namely SearchToolbar.dll, tbcore3.dll, tbhelper.dll and others. Although usually such browser plugins as toolbars can only be installed with user's permission, this hijacker in particular is associated with a list of malicious files, so it can easily change your default browser settings and hijack your homepage. That is why it is important to remove Search Toolbar from your computer as soon as possible, otherwise it would be only a matter of time until even more dangerous malware enters your PC.

Judging from the fact that Search Toolbar is associated with such files as tbcore3.dll it is possible to infer that the application can allow other malware to enter your PC behind your back. The thing is tbcore3.dll is often classified as virus and worm. It creates a toolbar extension on Internet Explorer (which is exactly what Search Toolbar is). Then the same file can easily enable other malicious DLLs to be injected into your system. It usually registers as a browser helper object on your Internet browser in order to avoid any suspicion. It then makes Internet Explorer open automatically and there is a possibility that the browser could as well be forced to execute other file types. What is more, since tbcore3.dll is connected to all running processes it can take control and collect keystrokes, mouse activity and even what you type on your screen.

Judged by other files associated with Search Toolbar, the hijacker may be injected into the system by Adware.HBHelper and any Zugo product, such as StartNow Toolbar, for example. The main point is that Search Toolbar seriously jeopardizes your system security. You may loose your personal data and experience a full system crash in the long run, so you simply must remove Search Toolbar right now.
