HomePageOnWeb.com/security (HomePageOnWeb.com/security/xp/, HomePageOnWeb.com/security/vista), being a browser hijacker, was designed as a Windows Security Centre web page. HomePageOnWeb.com/security will display a message about the presence of a worm application: Zlob infection. The erroneous warning message will read as follows:

"Warning! W32.Myzor.FK@yf is a virus that infects files with .exe extensions. It attempts to steal passwords and private information from the infected computer.

Scans the hard drive for .exe files and infects any executable files. Searches for passwords/information, which it may send to a remote attacker.
Recomendations [SIC]: Click “OK” to download officially approved security software.

This warning is fake, and it’s only aim is to coerce a computer user into downloading Micro AV malware –affiliate malware applications that accompany HomePageOnWeb.com/security. It has been reported that HomePageOnWeb.com/security may covertly install alternative spyware, which will only result in permanent damage to the infected computer. Experts suggest the immediate removal of HomePageOnWeb.com/security form any computer system.
