AV Security Suite

AV Security Suite is a new rogue antispyware application that is hitting innocent users around the globe. This rogue will perform a fake scan and generate fake results in order to push the user into purchasing absolutely worthless program. No one should doubt the threatening nature of AV Security Suite, because it is a direct clone of AntiSpyware Soft and Antivirus Soft that are known as really dangerous rogues in the cyberspace.

Usually rogues like AV Security Suite are delivered via hacked websites, spam email and Trojans that install themselves and then connect to a remote server, downloading and installing the rogue. Therefore, if you have AV Security Suite in your computer, you are most likely to be infected with other malware as well, although be cautious – the malware that infects you is definitely not the one that AV Security Suite tells you about. So when the rogue performs a fake system scan, you should ignore it point blank and DO NOT even think of purchasing the full version of the program. Were you to do so, you would only lose your money, as your credit card information would be exposed to a third party, and the hackers behind AV Security Suite would be able to access your bank account any time they wished.

AV Security Suite is very cunning, because it makes use of system vulnerabilities in order to infect you. For example, if you are not updating your software periodically, it might pretend to be an update for Adobe Reader or Flash, and once you click the Update button, you will be infected with AV Security Suite. Once infected, you will notice that some of your icons might disappear. AV Security Suite will also block your normal programs and tasks so that it would be harder to remove it. When it blocks an application, the rogue presents you with the following messages:

Windows Security alert
Application cannot be executed. The file [FILENAME].exe is infected.
Do you want to active your antivirus software now?

Spyware Alert
Application infected! The file rundll32.exe is infected. Do you want to ALLOW this application now?

Take note, that rundll32.exe is a legitimate Windows file that is responsible for running codes in DLL files and AV Security Suite makes it look like the file is infected which is obviously not true. What is more, it will even block your access to particular websites, claiming that the website in question is infected and you must stay out of it, like this:

This website has been reported as unsafe
We recommend that you do not continue to this website. This website has been reported to Microsoft for containing threats to your computer that might reveal personal or financial information.

Not only will AV Security Suite block you from accessing various websites, it will also spam you with numerous fake security notifications that will not cease unless you remove AV Security Suite. If you cannot perform the removal on your own, get yourself a reliable computer safeguard program that will delete AV Security Suite from your system along with its components. Whatever you do, make sure that the rogue is gone for good.

Where are the instructions for manual removal?

  3. Bob R. Jun 8, 2010

The infection scanner didn't work. Four programs refused to function, AV Software Suite continues to screw up the computer, and of course there are no manual instructions.

  4. Atool Jun 11, 2010

Useless as hell. No manual instructions. 3rd option on google for giggles? Fail.

IT is extremley hard to remove AV sequrity suite with out damaging your computer due to you accessing the back door ways of the computer.
    Easiest option,
Copy all crucial doccuments you need onto a usb drive and create yourself a new account. AV will not appear in the new account since it is attached onto the current account

still have the virus. 5 hours in to removal attempts. One thing I KNOW that can help is if you boot in safe mode, type msconfig into run in your start menu. Choose startup and disable ALL startup programs. Restart.
You still have the virus but you can now open programs normally and download from the net for a solution. Still haven't found anything to get rid of the sucker though.

  8. Sarah Jun 19, 2010

What if when you type in 'misconfig' it doesn't work? I've tried everything now and I can't find one single solution. This virus really got into my system. Help??

  9. Sarah Jun 19, 2010

Or, better yet, what if you can't delete it from the start up menu because it doesn't show?

  10. Ryan Jun 20, 2010

  13. ryan Jun 28, 2010

i cant even pull up the safe mode screen...

  14. mark Jul 2, 2010

try system restore in safe mode.i had this problem and it got rid of it!

  15. Bob Jul 3, 2010

Max! your's worked. I was an exe file under a weird folder: my \local settings\application data\qkmraqqb\hmdtdketssd.exe

  16. jmosley708 Jul 4, 2010

I've heard you should not go to system restore as it then infects that. I changed the permissions on the appdata\local\ folder to deny. If you do a msconfig, you will find it in your startup. My case it was something like nysdhesd.exe. I've deleted it and I'm looking for the registry entries for this nuisance. These people should be treated as criminals.

  17. jmosley708 Jul 4, 2010

The link to the registry entries are at: Using msconfig and removing the file seems to cleared this up for me. You also have to take your browser off proxy settings.
