Vista Security

Vista Security, also referred to as VistaSecurity, is a rogue anti-spyware application, designed to coerce and convince amateur computer users that their computer system is inundated with PC threats – and ultimately that they should purchase the full version of Vista Security to combat the threats! This is all a scam! It should not be trusted – not for one minute! Vista Security tends to employ a fake system scan which in turn produces fake system scan results. This, coupled with the enormous volumes of pop-up notifications and warnings forms the tactics employed by these type fake applications, all as a means to convince the user that their system is in fact under threat – and needs to be dealt with urgently! Whatever you do, do not fall for this fraudulent tactic and do not purchase the full version of Vista Security.

This particular parasite: Vista Security, makes use of the same main executable as a host of other rogue applications, which in turn means that is nothing but a blatant clone of several other security tools. The main executable is called pw.exe. Users should kill pw.exe as it is the process behind the destruction on their PC. Vista Security has also been known to redirect the user’s browser to its affiliate web pages - all of which are also designed to sell the full version application. Vista Security is persistent and will do everything in its power to coerce the user into parting with their money! Should you suspect your system has been infiltrated with Vista Security – you should remove the application as soon as possible!
