Pc Opticlean might seem like a useful and powerful system optimizer, but according to our researchers, it is doubtful the user would notice any changes after cleaning the computer with it. Thus, it is no wonder it was classified as a potentially unwanted program. In fact, we not only believe it is not worth leaving such a tool on the system, but also that buying its full version could be a mistake. It is because while testing the application we noticed some of its features do not even work. Not to mention the software might detect files that do not really influence the computer’s performance. If you wish to learn more about Pc Opticlean you could read the rest of our text as further in it we will explain more about this potentially unwanted program. However, if you realize how untrustworthy it is already and wish to eliminate it at once, you could slide below the text instead and use the provided deletion instructions to get rid of it.
Pc Opticlean is available on pcopticlean.com; the software’s official website. After downloading and installing it, the potentially unwanted program should create folders in the %PROGRAMFILES(x86)%, %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs, and %USERPROFILE%\Documents directories. Additionally, the application should create a scheduled task in the %WINDIR%\System32\Tasks location. This task should allow the tool launch itself automatically with the operating system. Unfortunately, even if you find such behavior irritating, our researchers say the tool does not allow its users to disable the mentioned startup task. Therefore, left alone it may restart every time you turn the computer on, start scanning the system or even urge you to purchase a full version and erase detected issues.
Talking about the potentially unwanted program’s detected issues it does not look like they are critical or of any importance so removing them might not make any difference. To be more accurate, during the tests we noticed the application detected cookies, cache files, temporary files, registries of already uninstalled software, and so on. Such data could be considered as junk perhaps, but our researchers say deleting it would not make the system work faster. Naturally, this is not what you may have expected before installing the tool since its official website says Pc Opticlean “is a recommended solution to help eliminate common PC problems such as errors, blue screens, sluggish behavior and much much more.” Another thing our specialists noticed is that some of the software’s features do not work, for example, Automatic Scan, Exclusion List, Log & Undo, and some others.
Furthermore, our researchers say the application has a very shady purchase website (safecart.com/pcopticlean/.pc-opticlean-c/purchase). Apparently, the user there is offered either Pc Opticlean or Pc Opticlean Pro. The strangest part is, the Pro version with more features costs only around 14 euros with a discount when the minimum version is about 30 euros, also with a discount. Plus, at the bottom of the described offers, there is a box to select if you want to get “automatic Windows back-up for 9.97 euros.” What seems to be odd is there is no explanation whether you pay this sum once, monthly, etc. We do not say you may necessarily get tricked, but there could be such a chance, and so we advise you to invest in a more reliable software.
All things considered, we do not think it is worth keeping the application if you do not plan on purchasing its full version and as we already explained we do not believe it would be worth the money you pay even with all the discounts. Those who agree with us could remove Pc Opticlean with the instructions located at the end of this text, or they could employ a reliable antimalware tool and use it to erase the potentially unwanted program instead. Such software might also help you keep the system clean from similar suspicious applications or other threats, so if you do not have a trustworthy antimalware tool yet, we advise you to consider acquiring one.
