NewNoteCenter Toolbar

NewNoteCenter Toolbar can be added to your main browsers and you may not even realize it. This new browser extension comes from a questionable family of worthless toolbars and featured search pages called Mindspark. This family has grown in the past years considerably and now contains dozens of potentially unwanted programs (PUPs) like this one, including TelevisionAce Toolbar, WorldOfNotes Toolbar, and InternetSpeedRadar Toolbar. This PUP offers you the ability to create notes and lists on its page as well as search the web with a questionable search engine. Since this PUP can appear in your browsers as your home page and new tab page, you could be introduced to potentially unreliable web content every time you open your browsers or open a new tab page. This could mean that you could risk dropping infections or ending up on malicious or fake websites if you engage with such questionable content. This is why we recommend that you remove NewNoteCenter Toolbar from your computer before it is too late even if this PUP may appear to be completely innocent to you.

Our research and user reports show that you can easily infect your browsers with this PUP after clicking on unreliable third-party pop-up ads that pretend to be downloader or updater notifications. These can be offered on suspicious websites, for example, ones that seemingly provide you with online streaming free movies and TV series. If you land on an unfamiliar and questionable page like that, you may be able to start the video, but you could be prompted right away to install the latest Adobe Flash Player. However, when you click to do so, you may end up on yet another malicious page that could infect you with this useless browser extension or a whole bundle of malicious programs.

The same can happen when you click on any suspicious ads and links while surfing the web. Of course, the risk is higher when you are viewing shady websites like torrent, shareware, gaming, and gambling pages. One click is enough on the wrong third-party ad or fake button on such a page and you could download a malicious software package containing PUPs like this one as well as malware infections like adware programs, browser hijackers, Trojans, fake alerts, and backdoors. This is why you should always use official pages to download free programs and updates as well. In order to be safe while surfing the web, it is vital that there is not one single threat on your system. Thus, it would be best to scan your PC with a trustworthy online malware scanner after you delete NewNoteCenter Toolbar.

In all fairness, we also need to mention that this PUP can be installed directly from official pages, too. It has a promotional page at newnotecenter.com, which is a rather simple page with few bits of information, and the other source is the Chrome web store at chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/newnotecenter/ecebhecolaimpgllicegjomhpdcbfegi. The numbers in the web store clearly show that this tool has only been installed by two users in the past three months since its release. This also indicates that this PUP must spread mostly in the aforementioned ways.

This featured search website provides you with tools to be able to create notes and lists on this page. This is quite useless because you cannot use this feature on any other page really. These are available from both the toolbar and as thumbnail links displayed below the main search field in the middle of the page. These thumbnails also include ones redirecting to popular websites like Facebook, Yahoo, and YouTube. The main issue is with the search engine itself that this PUP promotes, search.myway.com. This search engine is known to be potentially risky as it displays altered Google search results that can include promoted affiliates' ads and links. However, there is no guarantee that these affiliates are all to be trusted. This is why it may happen that you click on an ad and drop infections onto your system or end up redirected on a fake online shop or any other website run by cyber criminals. If you do not want to have your personal or banking details stolen this way, we recommend that you remove NewNoteCenter Toolbar right now.

We have prepared the necessary instructions for you below this article if you want to take matters into your own hand. You should know that you cannot simply uninstall this PUP via Control Panel because that would only remove this extension from Internet Explorer. Afterwards, you need to remove the undesirable extension from the rest of your main browsers. All this may sound more complicated than it really is. But keep in mind that there could be other more serious threats on board that may require your immediate attention. Thus, we recommend that you use a proper anti-malware program like SpyHunter to protect your PC against all existing potential and malicious threats.
