Ikasutmi

Ikasutmi is a browser extension that you might still find installed on your Google Chrome browser. At the time of analysis, the official installer of this suspicious browser plugin was already dead, and that is because it had a terrible reputation. According to our research team, this extension was available at https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/gealmglkkgnpmcbmfikiehabbhbnekhj, and the Chrome app store is generally a trusted and reliable source. Unfortunately, from time to time, an unreliable or a malicious extension can be offered, and so caution must be exercised. Before you install anything onto your browser, you need to weigh all pros and cons, and you need to do your research. First and foremost, review the legal information, such as privacy policies and terms of use. Second, always look into third-party reviews because they might be most genuine and reliable. If you have installed the suspicious add-on yourself, the chances are that you knew nothing about it, or you were forced to do it. In either case, you need to consider removing Ikasutmi.

Since the only known installer is down, it is unclear whether or not Ikasutmi is still active, but, of course, it is still possible that this add-on is spread in one way or another. If you encounter it while interacting with a third-party installer, you need to make sure that you scan your operating system. Do this using a legitimate malware scanner, and you will know whether you need to delete Ikasutmi along with other threats. Hopefully, that is not the case, and the add-on is no longer spreading. If you visited the page that used to represent the Chrome app installer, you would see a message stating: “404. That’s an error. The requested URL was not found on this server. That’s all we know.” While this installer was still active, users would be introduced to it via climbingsu.com/koj/. If the user was redirected to this page, they would be forced to install the extension. Maybe they would be informed that they could not leave the page until they did. Needless to say, you should never follow the demands that are made in an aggressive manner, especially if you are forced to download something you are not familiar with.

Although it is unlikely that Ikasutmi is still being distributed, you might have let it in in the past, or it could have been downloaded without your notice at all. What is the purpose of this extension? Is it helpful? Do you benefit from it in any way? Is it risky to interact with it? These are the questions you need to ask yourself. Obviously, a program that you are forced to install is unlikely to be trustworthy, and you are unlikely to benefit from it. Even if you believe that Ikasutmi is a legitimate and reliable tool, we recommend deleting it. Are there any other threats that must be eliminated as well? If they exist, the malware we discussed previously would find it. What about their removal? Once you can identify these infections, you can figure out how to eliminate them. Of course, you can enter the name of the threat you are interested in into the search box above to find a removal guide for it. What if the guide does not exist? In this case, you can add a comment below, and we will help you out ASAP.
