The latest counterfeit to have hit the Internet Community is WindoFix. Guised as the legitimate software this rogue application, considered by many experts to be ‘registry repair software’, this tool may display exaggerated results after scanning your system for ‘registry errors.’
WindoFix enters into a computer system via the manual installation from the system’s user. Upon visiting windofix.com, the user will be prompted to download WindoFix as it claims to “increase system performance and clean Windows Registry”. Bear in mind that all these claims are false and completely untrue.
In layman’s terms, WindoFix has been created to confuse unsuspecting computer users having registry issues into thinking that WindoFix will amend their problems and is the solution to all woes. Wrong! And wrong again, WindoFix will not assist any anyway. WindoFix is a misleading application, as it misleads users into thinking it will help0 them fix their registry issues.
Very important is for one to realize that all the infections WindoFix claims is present on an affected computer system is all fabricated, and one should definitely NOT trust the fake WindoFix or its affiliates. More important to bear in mind that the ONLY infection one will have is WindoFix itself.
Another sign that a system has been infiltrated by the WindoFix malware is the fact that every so often a security alert message might appear, coercing you into purchasing its full license version.
The only thing that will happen should you fall prey to this false security alert message is that once clicked on, the user will be redirected to the affiliate website, www.windofix.com, where they will be coerced into purchasing the full version, or additional malware. Bear this in mind!
Your best bet would be to remove WindoFix and all its affiliated components immediately from any system it has infiltrated.
