RIP Ransomware

Your files must be encrypted if the malicious RIP Ransomware has slithered in without any warning. This malicious infection was created to corrupt your personal files using a complex algorithm. If the encryption is performed successfully, the cyber criminals behind the ransomware have a chance at pushing you into paying a ransom fee. Unfortunately, more and more ransomware infections emerge every day because they are extremely lucrative. If the infection slithers in and encrypts the files, there is little anyone can do. Deleting the ransomware does not solve anything, and anti-malware software cannot help with the decryption of the files. Other virtual tools are not more helpful either. In general, if your operating system is attacked by a ransomware, it is most likely that your files are lost; especially if you are not willing to follow the demands of cyber criminals. Whatever you end up doing, you must not forget to remove RIP Ransomware, and we discuss this process in this report.

The AES-256 encryption algorithm is used by the creator of RIP Ransomware to corrupt your personal files. When the threat is installed, it quickly detects the files it is set to encrypt, and then it uses an encryption key to encode your files. Once that is done, the only thing that can help you unlock your files is a decryption key, and cyber criminals keep it hostage so that you would pay the ransom fee that is requested via the ransom note. One more thing we have to mention about your personal files is that they will gain the “.R.I.P.” extension after they are encrypted. After the encryption, the “Important.txt” file is created as well. You might find it on the Desktop as well as every folder holding the encrypted files. It is not dangerous to open this file, and so you can do it without any fear. The damage has been done, and cyber criminals use the TXT file just to inform you that a ransom fee is expected from you.

The ransom note represented by RIP Ransomware informs that you need to send a sum of 0.2 Bitcoins to the 1KdiPSdmqn7BsQFs9kqXdRqygruQeGzCx Bitcoin address. If you have done your research, you know that 0.2 Bitcoins converts to around 150 USD, which is not a small fee; however, it is small compared to the ransoms requested by many other infections. The ransom note also notifies that you need to confirm your payment by emailing cyber criminals at dj.elton@hotmail.co.uk. If you do that, make sure you do not use your regular email address because it could be used to introduce you to other scams in the future. In general, we do not recommend communicating with cyber criminals or following their instructions at all. Even if the ransom fee is small, you have to recognize that there is a risk that this money will be wasted on nothing good. Is there a guarantee that the creator of RIP Ransomware will give you the decryption key? There are no guarantees when it comes to this threat.

You must not postpone the removal of RIP Ransomware because this threat is dangerous. Hopefully, you can get around it all without paying the ransom. Maybe your files are backed up or maybe the ones that got encrypted are not valuable. Even if you end up paying for the decryption key, you need to delete RIP Ransomware from your operating system. The task is not that easy, which is why we strongly suggest employing automated malware detection and removal software, especially if you are not experienced with the elimination of complex infections. If you are determined to clean your PC manually, you have to get ready for a challenge. The main file of this dangerous threat can be placed anywhere on your computer, and we cannot promise you that you will find it in no time. The guide below lists some of the possible locations where the malicious .exe file might be found. If you are unable to get rid of the threat yourself, do not forget that you can always employ reliable security software.
