TapBreaker

TapBreaker is a program that is introduced in a gaming portal known as tapbreaker.com. It seems that the application is offered to users who want to play games free of charge. In order to do that, they have to install the software and agree to receive advertising. It might look like a fair trade, but it is probably because users do not understand that the ads could come from harmful web pages. If your system’s safety is more important to you, it would be better to delete the application from your computer. Lots of similar gaming websites do not require any software installation; thus we would advise you to find a safer alternative to TapBreaker. Removing the program is not that difficult, but if you need any help, keep it in mind that you can use the instructions placed below this text.

As we mentioned earlier, the application is available on the official TapBreaker web page. However, it might be distributed through file-sharing websites as well. For example, the program could be spread with bundled freeware installers. Thus, you may not notice the application until you take a look at the installation wizard, although depending on the installer, users might need to choose advanced settings to see the bundled software. In fact, users should always choose the custom configuration, because that way they can always deselect suggested programs that they do not prefer. Plus, if the installer you downloaded came from an unreliable file-sharing site, it is better to be extra careful as it could be bundled with the potentially harmful software.

TapBreaker should be noticed only by those users who have Internet Explorer as their default browser. This is because the application is not compatible with any other browser, although there is a chance that the software could be updated in the future. This program does not have its window, but you can know that it is installed on your system if you see its displayed ads while using Internet Explorer. Since the application does nothing else besides displaying third-party advertising content, our researchers classified it as adware. What’s more, it seems that each ad should be marked with TapBreaker brand, and it should be clickable too.

The problem with such clickable ads is that they might redirect users to other web pages and advertisements shown by TapBreaker come from the third party. Thus, there are no guarantees that the advertised software or the website you could be redirected to would not be malicious. We cannot say that all ads can redirect you to harmful web pages, but it is possible that some part of them could. For instance, users could land on sites that distribute suspicious software or even malware, such as Trojans, viruses, etc. You should also be aware that some of the web pages could be created to gather personal data of its visitors, e.g. email address, telephone number, and so on. Users could be asked to provide such information in exchange for free samples, software trials, and other freebies. In such situations, it is important to read Privacy Policy and Terms of use documents, because there are websites that gather such data and sell it or share it with other interested parties without informing the user.

Adware applications often have fun and exaggerated descriptions that might confuse users. Thus, if you have any doubts about a program, you should do some research on it. In this case, you probably already noticed that there are negative reviews about TapBreaker, which indicates that the application is not a reliable one. Nonetheless, you can easily get rid of it if you go to your Control Panel. Apparently, the adware has a working uninstaller, so it can be uninstalled through Control Panel.
