Search.email-dhp.com

Search.email-dhp.com is a hijacker that you are coerced into letting in if you want to use the benefits of a supposedly beneficial browser extension called Localhost. Alternatively, this hijacker is introduced to you as a standalone piece, and you acquire it along with other potentially dangerous programs. Whether you download it willingly or not, it modifies your preferred homepage in a highly suspicious manner, and that is not the only reason why deleting it is what we advise. After thoroughly researching this hijacker in our internal lab, we have come to a conclusion that it could threaten your virtual security, and that is not something you can ignore. You can learn more about the removal of Search.email-dhp.com by reading this report, but the first thing you should do is scan your operating system. Hopefully, malware does not exist, but if you discover dangerous threats, you might want to address them first.

The suspicious Localhost by SaferBrowser is an extension compatible with Firefox, Chrome, and IE web browsers. This extension is linked to Search.email-dhp.com, Search.fo-cmf.com, Search.di-cmf.com, Search.tv-cmf.com, and several other hijackers. Obviously, they come from the same family of browser hijackers, and it is very possible that they are controlled by the same developer. Although all of these search providers have unique interfaces and, supposedly, offer different services, they are identical. For one, all of them redirect to the Yahoo search engine. Are you familiar with this search engine? If you are, you might think that Search.email-dhp.com is completely safe for web surfing. In reality, this popular engine is used to conceal sponsored links, interaction with which generates a profit for the hijacker’s creator. On top of that, it does not matter whether you are redirected to a familiar page/site or not. As long as you are being redirected without your permission, you need to be cautious.

Search.email-dhp.com sees what you are researching, and it can analyze your browsing history. Using this information, the hijacker can provide you with appropriate content as well as personally targeted ads. Needless to say, this increases the chances of you interacting with this content. Is this activity illegal? It is not, and you are informed about this via the Privacy Policy. Of course, few users would review this lengthy and boring statement before installing the hijacker or the extension associated with it. Nevertheless, just because something is done with your knowledge does not mean that is okay. The parties who have access to the data collected by Search.email-dhp.com and who have the permission to advertise content are unknown. This is a perfect environment for unreliable and malicious parties who might be looking for a platform enabling them to promote corrupted or misleading ads. For example, an attractive ad could hide a link to an unpopular site that might contain malware installers. This is just one of the many scenarios that you might encounter if you do not delete this adware.

Although Search.email-dhp.com provides links to gmail.com, yahoo.com, hotmail.com, and a weather forecast page, the main function of this hijacker is to advertise. It can do this seamlessly, without any warning, and this is why you need to erase it from your operating system. You should be able to delete Search.email-dhp.com successfully by changing its homepage, but you have to be careful if you choose the manual removal option. In this case, it is important that you scan your operating system with a trusted malware scanner to check for leftovers of the hijacker as well as other threats. As mentioned previously, this hijacker could be bundled with malware, and so scanning your PC is a task you should not skip. If you go the automatic removal route, all you have to do is install a trusted anti-malware tool that will simultaneously clean your PC and keep it protected from other threats.
