Search.yourspeedtestcenter.com

Search.yourspeedtestcenter.com is a suspicious search engine that you might let in yourself by downloading the Your SpeedTest Center extension onto your browsers. According to our research, if you install this extension, the suspicious search tool will replace your regular homepage on Firefox, Chrome, and Internet Explorer browsers. Fortunately, the default search engine is modified by this search tool only on one browser, and it is Mozilla Firefox. Although computer users can download the extension represented by SaferBrowser and published by Express Software directly from its official website, (yourspeedtestcenter.com/SpeedTest), our researchers have found that it is offered via misleading pop-ups as well. In this case, you might let in the search tool without even realizing it. In any case, you should remove Search.yourspeedtestcenter.com from your browsers, and we can help you do that.

Our research team identifies Search.yourspeedtestcenter.com as a browser hijacker because it can modify browser settings, and it can do that in a clandestine way. Although the installer of the Your SpeedTest Center add-on is followed by a disclaimer informing that your search tools would be modified, you do not have the option to decline this offer. We have seen plenty of hijackers that are very similar to this one, including Search.searchhdrp.com, Search.login-help.net, and Search.login-help.net. All of these search engines are associated with extensions by SaferBrowser, and all of them function in a similar manner. Upon installation, tracking cookies are installed to spy on you and track your interests. As we have learned by analyzing the Privacy Policy of this hijacker, it even installs “Partner Cookies,” which means that unknown third parties can spy on you as well. As you enter keywords into the search tool, you are provided with the search results via the Yahoo search engine, which is what confuses users. Unfortunately, these results can be modified by the hijacker, and the links shown to you might be sponsored. Of course, they can be created based on the data collected about you.

The homepage of Your SpeedTest Center includes two links called “Tips to Increase Speed” and “Speed Guide.” Both of these links represent articles that are unrelated with the extension or the search tool; however, it is possible that the developer of this software earns money by promoting these links. In general, this program might look like a tool that you can benefit from, but, in reality, it was created for the benefit of third parties promoting their services. Due to this, we do not recommend trusting Search.yourspeedtestcenter.com or the extension associated with this browser hijacker. Have you found these tools beneficial? Well, they cannot provide you with authentic search services, and they are not useful in any other way, so what is it that you see in this program? If you realize that it is not a program you should be running on your operating system, we suggest eliminating it as soon as possible. The good news is that deleting Search.yourspeedtestcenter.com is not complicated.

According to our research, uninstalling the undesirable extension via the Control Panel does not automatically remove Search.yourspeedtestcenter.com from the Internet Explorer browser. However, if you erase the extension on Firefox and Chrome browsers, the hijacker will disappear automatically. This means that the biggest problems with the removal operation will be for those trying to eliminate the threat from Internet Explorer. Well, do not worry because we have got you covered. The manual removal guide below shows how to erase the undesirable program from your operating system and your browsers, and you can follow it if you want to erase the threat yourself. Another option would be using anti-malware software capable of erasing malware automatically, and you should consider this option if other threats are active and if you wish to keep malware away in the future. Reliable anti-malware software can keep your operating system protected, and this is extremely important.

N.B. If you choose to clean your operating system manually, make sure that you employ a reliable malware scanner to examine it. Hopefully, you manage to eliminate all threats; however, if some of them remain active, a trusted malware scanner will warn you about them right away.
