Type: Potentially Unwanted Application

iPadian

As you can tell from its name iPadian has something to do with the Apple iPad. However, it has nothing to do with Apple Inc itself. Moreover, our researchers have classified this application as potentially unwanted and recommend that you remove it if you happen to have it on your PC. Now, it is not a malicious program, but it has some issues we are going to cover in this article. In short iPadian is supposed to be an iPad Graphical User Interface simulator, but it leaves much to be desired because it is not that good in the first place. Still, many people install it for fun, but what they do not expect from it are ads and malware. Please continue reading to learn more.

Based on the information found on this application’s website, iPadian was created by a company called Bluestack Systems Inc. It is known for creating program emulators, such as BlueStacks App Player which in Android emulator for PC and Mac. However, this application brings the iOS to PC which looks like much fun. However, there is more to it that we will get to in just a moment.

Our security analysts have found that this program is distributed on a dedicated website at Xpadian{.}com. As far as we know, this website is its only distribution channel, but we would not be surprised to find in bundled with other software in the near future. In any case, we want to inform you that iPadian comes bundled in an InstallCore installer. This fact is relevant because this particular installer comes bundled with additional software by default and that software in not always legitimate. In this particular instance, the InstallCore installer also comes bundled with MyPCBackUp, a potentially unwanted program that masquerades as a PC optimization tool and ByteFence, an alleged anti-malware program that is featured on Search.bytefence.com. Hence, this potentially unwanted program comes with additional shady software by default, so here is your first reason not to trust it.

While installing this emulator, the installer will display ads, and one of them will load Register.videostripe.com if you click it. This website is an online movie streaming service of unverified reliability. After the installation is complete, you can start using iPadian. This application appears to be a lot of fun because it can turn your computer’s screen into an iPad. It features an Angry Birds game that actually works. Furthermore, it has a calculator that works as well and a clock, a functioning Facebook, and Gmail app. Moreover, it has an App store from which you can download games, but not all of them work. It has many more functions, but that is not why our researchers have classified it as a potentially unwanted program.

The problem we have with iPadian is that it has been configured to display commercial advertisements in its interface. For example, it promotes an online gaming website called Jackingame.com which also features third-party advertisements of unknown origin. We do not think that they are malicious, but they are annoying nonetheless. Whether this application is useful is subjective, but our researchers advise that you uninstall it along with the bundled software it came with.

iPadian may be a fun app to play around with, but offers nothing of real value and the fact that it comes bundled with other potentially unwanted programs make it undesirable as well, especially since it has the ability to promote third-party content to make money. Indeed, making money from advertising is this program’s primary purpose. So do not hesitate to remove it using our instructions below.
