One10 PC Cleaner

One10 PC Cleaner is a potentially unwanted program that was created by the mysterious creators of PC Junk Optimiser and Zeast PC Tuneup, both of which are classified as PUPs as well. This program is also known as One10_PC_Cleaner, and its publisher is listed as Zeast_PC_Optimizer, which further proves that these PUPs were created by the same people. Another thing this proves is that these programs are underdeveloped. Although they work in some ways, their developers did not do a good job at making them as convincing as some other suspicious system optimizers out there. In the defense of this PUP, although we recommend removing One10 PC Cleaner, it was found to delete temp files found in the %TEMP% directory as promised. Unfortunately, that is pretty much all that this program is good for, and this is the first reason for you to eliminate it as soon as possible.

The interface of One10 PC Cleaner is extremely poor and uninspired. The About section represents the version of this PUP and provides a contact email. The Cleaner section provides a tool that deletes the TEMP files. The Antimalware tool urges users to scan their computers for malware using One10 Anti-Malware. If you use this tool, you will be pushed to purchase an application that we do not recommend trusting. The good news is that, at the moment, it is impossible to acquire this program because the PUP itself crashes when you click the “BUY NOW” button. Of course, this function could be restored in time (we found that this PUP can silently download updates from the 104.237.195.181 database), but we do not recommend investing your money into suspicious, unpredictable programs. Sure, having reliable anti-malware software installed on your PC is very important; however, that does not mean that you should install the first program that represents itself as a reliable anti-malware tool.

The fact that One10 PC Cleaner represents an unreliable malware removal tool is a good enough reason to eliminate it from your operating system. However, there is one more important reason to get rid of this suspicious program. This PUP displays fictitious security warnings, and they will not seize feeding you false information unless you delete this program. These fake warnings are set up to trick you into thinking that malware exists, that your operating system is vulnerable, and that you need the help of experienced technicians. Here are a few fake warnings that you might come across.

Errors Detected:
All Services have been stopped to prevent further damage. You could restart the computer to see if the problem is fixed. However, if the problem persists then you may call on the number mentioned below or may find a solution online.
1-866-921-9559

The number presented by One10 PC Cleaner must be ignored. This number does not represent reliable security experts or “Tech Support,” and a simple cross-check can help you figure this out. If you decide to call a tech support helpline, choose a reliable one you can trust. As you might know already, fake helplines are introduced to computer users to scam them. Gullible users could be tricked into disclosing credit card information, full name, email address and other sensitive information that could be used for identity theft. In the best case scenario, you will be charged for the call, and that is not what you need either. The problem is that this PUP is not as forceful as other unreliable programs providing fake helpline numbers. Instead of pushing you to call the number as soon as possible, you are given the option to restart your PC to see if errors disappear. Of course, these “errors” will not disappear because they exist only in the fake alerts, and these will keep popping up until you eliminate the PUP.

Have you uninstalled One10 PC Cleaner via Control Panel using “Uninstall a program” or “Add or Remove Programs” tools? If you have, you must have noticed that the fake pop-ups keep reappearing. According to our researchers, several different steps need to be performed in order to have this PUP eliminated fully, and these steps are listed below. If you are unsure about any of these steps, start a conversation by posting a comment below. Of course, if this PUP has forced its way into your operating system packaged with other infections or unwanted programs, you need to make sure that you are able to get rid of all threats in time. We advise using trusted, legitimate anti-malware software to have your operating system cleaned from all malicious computer infections.
