Sugabit.net

Sugabit.net is a questionable new search engine from the creators of isearch.omiga-plus.com and mystartsearch.com, which are well-known browser hijackers. If this hijacker shows up on your computer, you can be sure that all your major browsers will be affected by it as it changes the home pages and default search engine settings as well. Lots of users do not even pay attention to such changes, but you should know it is not only annoying that a new page appears when you launch your browsers. As a matter of fact, this browser hijacker is totally unreliable since it may introduce you to harmful third-party web content. Although it looks like a legitimate search engine, you should not trust this tool for a second. We have found that the main goal of this hijacker is to generate web traffic to affiliated websites in order to generate income for the creators. If you do not want to end up on malicious websites and infect your computer with more malware threats, you should not hesitate to remove Sugabit.net from your system.

We have not found a promotional website for this browser hijacker, which can only mean one thing: This infection is mainly spreading in freeware bundles. This is the most frequently used method to deliver browser hijackers apart from other malicious installers to unsuspecting users’ computers. Schemers behind these bundles try to create misleading installation wizards so that users end up with installing the whole content by default. However, most of the time you do have an option to deselect certain elements by unticking the related checkboxes. But inexperienced users usually skip this step and rush to install the package. This is how most malware invasions take place even though users may believe that they have been attacked by some mysterious evil force.

You can, of course, prevent such malicious bundles from dropping onto your computer if you stay away from unfamiliar file-sharing websites or any websites with suspicious content, such as pornographic sites. You need to understand that these are quite harmful sites that are mostly operated by schemers. These pages promote lots of unreliable third-party bundles that may contain malware infections. Clicking anywhere on these pages could result in your downloading such a bundle. Even if you think that you click on a download button, it may well be a well-disguised third-party ad. You should only use reputable websites for downloading free software and tools. Because if you let such a lot onto your computer, deleting Sugabit.net will not be sufficient to restore order on your PC; you will also have to identify all other potential threats and deal with them as well.

Research shows that this browser hijacker is most popular in these countries: USA, India, and Egypt. You should not take anything for granted that this search engine displays you. As a matter of fact, it does not even use its own search results, but, instead, it redirects all your searches to a modified Bing.com search results page. This means that this hijacker may inject third-party ads and sponsored links among the results, which may lead to unreliable websites. Here is what the EULA discloses about this:

Neither we nor any third parties provide any warranty or guarantee as to the accuracy, timeliness, performance, completeness or suitability of the information and materials found or offered on this website for any particular purpose. You acknowledge that such information and materials may contain inaccuracies or errors and we expressly exclude liability for any such inaccuracies or errors to the fullest extent permitted by law.

This does not really persuade us that this is a reliable search engine. If you do not want to experience being scammed by cyber criminals, you should act now and remove Sugabit.net.

If you wish to put an end to this threat source, we recommend that first you run its uninstaller via Control Panel. Although this browser hijacker uses the Target line modification trick, i.e., it changes your browser shortcuts to launch this search engine every time you open your browsers, this uninstaller takes care of this issue. But it does not clear all the browser setting changes; therefore, we believe you are better off resetting all your major browsers. Please follow our instruction below this article if you need assistance with all this. There are certain rules you can observe for safer surfing and to protect your computer, but the most effective way is to install a reliable security tool. If you want real peace of mind while using your computer, you should consider this option.
